"When You're Young"

And so my top 10 begins with a surprise entry from 3 Doors Down. I found out about them a couple of years back, they have a nice sound and strong messages concealed inside their songs. What I like the most about this song has to be its lyrics, I can totally relate to them. That feeling of nostalgia that you have while you see yourself growing up, hoping that someday when you're older things will be easier. The video is rather simple but it does the trick. Listen to it if you haven't yet =).

It can be argued that she's no longer the same P!nk that she used to be ten years ago, but who can really blame her? She has grown up and obviously her musical style would grow with her. This ballad came unexpected I bet it wasn't even supposed to be released, but I'm glad they did. I love the way she created a great music video with a very simple song. P!nk is slowly becoming one of my favorite female artists and I'm totally here for her comeback.

Katy Perry
"E.T."

Now this one I didn't see it coming at all. Katy was the singles counterpart of Adele this year. Every single thing she released became a hit and most of them had amazing longevity. E.T. has to be her wildcard from this era, the song itself might be a little generic but the outrageous music video made it be taken more serious. And the beat is sticky as hell so I couldn't resist, I was abducted, it had to be top 10.

"Rise Above 1"

I hate Superhero Movies, they're just too over the top for my taste. Spiderman is no exception but damn, it has inspired way too many great songs! So much for a man who shoots strings from his wrists lol. Anyway Rise Above is one of those songs that you listen to when you you're feeling stressed out and all you need is to take a deep breath.

"Collide"

Did you really expect her to be my number one again? I did but I won't give it to her with a song like this. When I first listened to it I hated it, I thought it was a demo this couldn't be Leona's long-awaited comeback single. Then this random unknown pressed DJ came with the plagiarism allegations and the release and promotion of this single was already screwed before it began. When all was said and done this song grew on me like no other track did. No matter how crappy mainstream they tried to make it, Leona's vocals slay it all. I'm here for her comeback this year and I just know it will be epic.
