I wanted it to do well, but the bright side is the DVD/Bluray might come sooner. And Wes Craven said that if they do go ahead with 4 and 5...that the story will continue with Sydney, Gale, and Dewey. Basically they ain't going no where.
Dead at him not knowing who Anna Paquin is, but stans for Degrassi. Him saying they both die there. Saying Sidney should stop going back to "Woodsborotown" (), when she hasn't been there since the first film. Him not mentioning that the publicist's car wouldn't start. 5:06 -- his fat ass snorting trying to breath.
I figured this after the low Friday numbers... Well it grows really well during the week. It'll do $50 million in the end, or just under it, which I find a success with the $18 million opening, and the success of recent horror films.
1. The opening scene is painfully near-perfect
The three-part opener has some serious quality differences. The first segment with Sherrie & Trudie is masterful, with dialogue that pops, honest performances and genuine suspense (who knew a vibrating txt alert could generate tension?). Not to mention the total geekgasm of two costumed-up Ghostfaces at once. The Rachel & Chloe scene has a specific function to bridge the Stab and Scream worlds and explain the “rules” of opening scenes. Mission accomplished. However the final setpiece taking place in Woodsboro should have been, progressively, the best – but came off as cliche and rushed, with noticeable lighting issues, a goofy oversized mask, and a cheap-looking garage set – basically, what you’d expect to find in a scene from Stab. Unless that was the point – but it all just feels upside down. Also, the focus was on Jenny, who despite her GPA still fulfilled the dumb blonde functions while Marnie, the more innocent and interesting of the two was relegated to an off-screen kill, unless you count her deathcam footage in the climax.
I agree with this. The first 2 faux openings were strong and then the final one was kind of underwhelming. It seems like the one with Trudy should have been the real opening. That one had a classic Scream feel to it. (The vibrating text message sound >>>>>>>>) Of course with a chase scene and better drawn out deaths.

Well, didn't expect it's decline. I dub the domestic performance a flop, honestly. But worldwide is okay, and they made their budget back overall. Hope this doesn't screw their hopes for Scream 5.

I agree as well, I think that y the time they got to the real opening it was over before we knew it, it only lasted a few minutes and they could have done so much more with it.
Originally Jill wasn't gonna be revealed as the killer until Scream 6. That's why Kevin stopped involving himself with the movie as a certain point, because he didn't want her to be revealed. This also means that the plots he had for 5 + 6 must be thrown out of the window.
