It's also a much better "You are special, don't feel sad..." song than Firework.
More emotional and heartbreaking - I may have shed a tear the first time I really listened to the lyrics, and I'm a hard person to crack emotionally!
I honestly don't understand how Firework gets placed with those types of song tbh. To me, Firework is about realising you have a talent and taking advantage of it, like in 'Fingerprints' or 'What You Waiting For?', rather than "Ignore the bullies! You're Brilliant!" in 'Pearl', 'Born this Way' or 'Beautiful'. Obviously the video pushed it along that path, but even before then I felt it was misunderstood.
Meh, whatever.
