I was ready. The only thing I was actually hesitant over was labor itself. I mean there are some things that you won't know until you have them, but I do feel like you can be ready. In reality there's no real mental preparation for becoming a parent, but there are those who slip up and have kids and aren't ready to give up certain things or who simply aren't ready to have the responsibility of raising someone other than themselves. I was that person like 2 years ago. I wanted no part in taking care of anyone other than myself. People change and grow up.
