I mean what has Rihanna really said? She's been ambiguous as **** and most of the details y'all have are from Twitter accts and indirect sources when Rihanna said herself that any real info from the album would come directly from her. I mean some of y'all think y'all know exactly how album roll outs are supposed to be based on the fact that you have witnessed traditional album releases in the past, but have you ever thought that maybe everything seems so unorthodox because her upcoming album may not be orthodox in any sense of the word and that's why you're so confused and frustrated? I may be wrong and if I am I'll proudly eat my words, but I really don't think the girl is as lost as most of y'all do.
I know it's been years since she released and for a Rihanna fan that's really hard to grasp, but the **** takes time. I think for the first time in her career she is finally truly doing exactly what she wants to artistically (and that's not saying she was a label puppet before now) and she wants to take her time to make sure everything is perfect. Just wait.
|
Sure she's not promoting it as much but she's released a lead single, a 2nd and a third. The era has clearly started I'm sure she's gonna "surprise" release all that album info soon enough. This is how she's planned the era so

They get mad when people call her a label puppet, but when she's out here making boss moves its a problem.
She started her own label, releasing the type of music she wants to , has multiple endorsements ongoing, who knows how many other projects she has upcoming (it was just revealed she plans on launching her own magazine). Of course everything is NOT going to run smoothly when you have so much going on. Trial & error, thats life.
Why people act as if Rih sits on her ass all day doing absolutely nothing, is beyond me. & then have the nerve to make dumb ass comparisons to other artists. Rihanna is NOT katy perry, Bey, Gaga, or Taylor. Quite frankly w the exception of Bey NONE of those other artists have a brand as big as Rihanna right now. By brand I mean power and influence outside of the music industry.
Furthermore why do stans feel so entitled to have a step by step guide as to what is going on in her career. When she's ready to speak on things, she will do so.

I think it's hilarious. I mean I don't stan in any sense of the word. I'm a big fan of Rihanna's, but I'm only here for the music. I don't give a **** how it's released, who wrote it, how it charted, if she's promoting it, etc. Stan culture has people thinking they're CEOs, managers, and personal assistants when in reality you don't know ****. You don't even know Rihanna. The only thing I know is that it's very apparent that Rihanna has a lot going on right now: a box office smash movie, Puma, Dior, magazine spreads, other projects that haven't even been revealed yet, all the while recording new music. The bitch is running a multi-million dollar brand and it takes times and is a meticulous process. It's almost as if it's an insult to her because some of you act like she's playing around when in reality she's always working. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON BEHIND CLOSED DOORS and in reality Rihanna will let you see only what she allows you to see and when she wants to. The "era" or lack there of may not be going exactly how you want it to, but maybe, just maybe it's going exactly how Rihanna wants.

When me and a few other navy said that we weren't excusing the SNL performances. Where did you get that from?

I imagine the Body Milk video to be a mix betweent Pour It Up and Cake Like LG tbh. It could be her next Umbrella and the lead single of the era if promoted right.

I agree, she has given better performances, regardless of how one classifies her persona.

This. It must be tiring. I'm really loving the music so far
Do you think I've been doing a good job of not melting down? Please, Queen Bajan, I need your approval

Chill please. It's never that serious. I don't care about Home, Dior or Puma. She is a singer, is it really so weird for us to be expecting an album 6 months after the lead single's release? She had 3 years of break to deal with all the side projects.

I just remembered that I heard Nobody's Business on Saturday night in the club and I was reminded what PERFECTION that song is. Ugh, such a good chilled bop.

Tbh I'm so glad I love ALL the music so far and I can enjoy the music from my fave and not overreact and have heart attacks all over the internet.
Yes, I'm mad that R8 is not out yet but that's it.
Oh, I guess the others will never know how good it feels.

Chill? What did I say?
It's not weird for you all to expect an album at this point but many of you, from what I can see, are making a lot of assumptions based on pure speculation and fan-fiction.
And, yes, Rihanna is a singer but you can't fault her for wanting to expand her brand especially considering the fact that musicians make most of their money outside of their actual music. She hasn't released an album in 3 years, but she wasn't necessarily on a break. She's been doing stuff non-stop. Like I said, y'all don't know what's really going on behind closed doors so I just feel like this wait would go a lot smoother for some of you if you quit stressing about things that are beyond your control.

I get you. But people have different coping mechanisms. Some relieve stress by expressing their dissatisfaction with the era some don't. The thing we should do is stop fighting and respect different opinions (I'm talking generally).

"Oh na na, what's ma name? Well, Rihanna's first name is Robyn, and that's exactly what she wants to name her upcoming digital magazine. There's just one problem: DC Comics wants to stop Rihanna from using the name, claiming that it is too similar to the name of Batman's ever-sidekick, Robin."http://www.complex.com/pop-culture/2015/05/rihanna-dc-comics-trademark-dispute

We've done our part with essays, essays are SO March/April
Didn't this base already went through the "Rih know what she's doing" vs. "She doesn't know" a BAJILION times last month
I thought this base was fun again
