Britney Spears San Francisco concert details revealed
Quote:
Streets will be closed later this month when Britney Spears tapes a performance for “Good Morning America” outside the Castro Theatre, according to Supervisor Scott Wiener.
The 400 and 500 blocks of Castro Street between Market and 19th streets will be closed starting just before midnight on March 26 until about 4 or 5 p.m. on March 27, said Wiener, whose district includes the Castro neighborhood. The actual one-hour performance is slated to begin at noon. The piece is set to air on GMA the following Tuesday, March 29.
Wiener said a yet-to-be determined number of people will be allowed in to see it for free. ABC producers have been meeting with local groups to hash out plans for the segment.
The cost of the whole affair is unknown at this point, Wiener said, but ABC will foot the bill for any city expenditures, which could include police for crowd control, rerouting of Muni services and movement of street cables to accommodate the stage and recording equipment. Wiener said the 24 and 33 lines would be rerouted, and the F Line could also be impacted.
Wiener said ABC producers are in the process of submitting permit applications and details will be solidified in the coming weeks. Spears is set to arrive in San Francisco a few days before the Sunday performance, most likely to meet with youth organizations including the Lavender Youth Recreation and Information Center and Larkin Street Youth Services.
Other than wanting to meet with kids, locals say Spears is clearly courting a gay audience, for good or ill.
“It’s a calculated move on Britney’s part to come down and sort of ‘reclaim my gays,’” said Heklina, a well-known local drag queen who founded Trannyshack, a monthly cabaret.
Still, Heklina said rooftop parties are already planned for the event and the novelty, at the very least, is exciting for the neighborhood. Former Supervisor Bevan Dufty said the rebounding pop star’s appearance can’t be a bad thing.
“The Castro is really rooting for Britney,” Dufty said.

No, trust me. Taking out any oh's would seriously affect the song's catchiness.

You mean to go? I couldn't either way, all the way on the other side of the states.
As for class, luckily this semester most of my classes are hybrid online.

As it seems is the trend for songs these days, Britney Spears' new single "Till the World Ends" leaked late today. It's the second single from her Femme Fatale album, which is due out in stores March 29, and none other than Ke$ha helped out with the lyrics.
People are going wild for it. Perez Hilton said it's "one of the best songs of Britney Spears' career!!!!" and called it "ear ****," which sounds really wrong, but he definitely loves it. Twitter is going mad with fans raving about it, and nearly everyone agrees it's much stronger than the first song to leak -- "Hold It Against Me" (except Lady Gaga fans who just think all of it sucks).

From what I've read here on ATRL most Gaga stans don't really have a lot of negative things to say about the song, except for vozas who is clearly pressed and threatened. Britney has a huge hit with TTWE.

Exclusive: Ke$ha Talks Writing Britney Spears' 'Till The World Ends'
'It's an honor to write for one of pop music's biggest icons,' she tells MTV News
Britney Spears' new single, "Till the World Ends" is dance-floor ready — just ask Ke$ha. The pop star in her own right wrote the just-released track, which was produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin.
"I consider myself a songwriter before and above everything else, so it's an honor to write for one of pop music's biggest icons. And I hope it gets everyone's ass on the dance floor cuz y'all know that's what K-Monay does best!" the singer said in an exclusive statement to MTV News.
The single was posted by Perez Hilton on Thursday afternoon (March 3), after speculation earlier in the day that it would hit radio next week.
"Till the World Ends" is a swirling, "beat the beat" track, ready for late nights spent "dancing till the world ends" as she sings on the fast-paced party jam. "This kitten got your tongue tied in knots I see/ Spit it out 'cause I'm dying for company," a confident Spears purrs.
Later in the song, she sings: "See the sunlight/ We ain't stopping/ Keep on dancing till the world ends/ If you feel it/ Let it happen/ Keep on dancing till the world ends."
Last month, Ke$ha talked with Spin.com about the song, saying it's about the power of an artist performing a great gig. "That song is me imagining her and any female musician touring the world," she said. "You know, when you go out, and you're having an amazing, magical night and you don't want to go to sleep and you want it to last until the world ends."
This new track is the latest single from Spears' forthcoming Femme Fatale, which drops March 29.
