It's being held in Houston unlike California last year, so hopefully with the time zone difference, it'll be dark.

Yeah, it'll be dark. Because it'll be in February and it'll be I think 5pm which is around the time it starts to get dark during Daylight savings. So when the superbowl performance starts it'll look like nighttime or close to it to the point where they'll be able to use lights.
