This could have been Coldplay's year for AOTY, but I'm not so sure (even though reviews don't match much here). They have already won ROTY ("Clocks") and SOTY ("Viva la Vida"), and this could have completed that trifecta. Their album sales are strong, so they could sneak in with a nomination.
I don't. I've done my fair share of research. For example, on One of the Boys (Katy's first album), there are 3 songs she wrote completely on her own.
The point is, if she could write songs on her own, there's no doubt in my mind that she contributes when there are 2-3 writers involved. Same with Bey.
The elitist notion that sole lyric writing credit makes a song better is just...

She needs her Glitter or her Crossroads lead role to solidify herself as pop icon Hopefully if she ever does take on a role it's like Xteen in Burlesque which doesn't look so bad judging from clips I've seen.

I know her grandmother is from WV. She also apparently dated a guy at UVA at one point.
