I don't agree. I think its dumb to put the entire relationship like that in the hands of the other person if you still want it to continue. If you want it to continue it shouldn't be brought up and you should try and work it out which they both weren't doing to their fullest if communication broke down for a while

Yes but the point of it is to try to get a completely honest answer about how the other feels. Of course it's not the ideal way to go about things but that's how people are. Not everything is done logically when it comes to love and relationships.

Well first he brought it up the other day, asking if he thought we were working... Then tonight I decided to ask him and I said, do you think we should just be friends since we barely speak to each other and he said "Maybe".

I said that I didn't wanna lose him completely and he agreed.

So I'd say just talk to him. You guys need to clarify things. It seems as if you both don't want the relationship to end so you just simply need to talk and come up with possible ways to fix or rectify the issues that you have.
