I agree. There's too many newer singles getting performed at the VMAs. TIHWD is Katy's 5th. And if LL is the next single, I'd rather her slay that on Grammy night than have a performance at the VMAs of this. Just saying

I actually watched that too. Seemed so promising up until she joins the army.

Cringefest. The only one I skipped is Dark Horse and I'm not even sorry.

I used to LOVE her during the TD era, but the PRISM happened which is not bad in any way, but the overly colourful image turned me off because it didn't seem to fit the sound of this album. But THIS video is an amazing example of colourful and fitting to the song.
