They only sold that much because of a ticket bundle. Pairing up tickets for their concerts with the single itself. The first day they sold 420K copies and the second day was a HUGE drop at 7k. And their newest single, they haven't even touched 100K let alone 400k. I didn't know that LDH were into such gimmicks.

It's really one of their best releases in years. The PV, the song, hopefully the covers... And FINALLY the new stars on the front (Renacchi, Sakura, Paruru, Yuria and Jurina <though i feel like shes been pushed as the new ace since forever>) And finally Mayuyu not in the first rows.

This year they are releasing different songs, I hope the SSK winner will get a good song and not a copy/paste one

yeah it's visually striking but there's a lot of issues still

for example, if you have like 16 girls dancing in a line, statistics indicate that AT LEAST two of them should be in sync with each other, right? not here though. not in AKB. never that.

and details like that, or the cheapness and loudness of their usual singles, is just more ammo for the people getting fed up. Their management will exert the absolute minimum amount of effort on product and the absolute maximum at devising schemes to get those old fat pedophile ****s to buy more copies of a given single.

So can anyone explain to me how buying physical Japanese albums works in the U.S? CDJapan automatically converts the Yen price to USD, but are there any places that you guys recommend for buying physicals online? I know the prices are more expensive, and I'm okay with that.

You mean digitally? I think iTunes Japan is the only way, but I think you need to do a few tweaks to access it.

For physical albums, I've heard amazon.jp is a great option since their shipment prices are cheap.

Nah i wanted an actual physical copy. But I'll look at amazon JP and see if that's a possibility.

I've only bought from CDJapan but I've had good experience with them, plus they have the points system.

Really though I'd advise buying from eBay or Rinkya. Oricon stopped counting both CDJ's and YA's international sales in their chart so it's not worth paying the extra dollars to feel like you made a contribution to your fav's chart performance, because you're not

It's also worth mentioning that the cheaper HK/Taiwan presses of J-pop CDs are the same as the Japanese presses. J-pop doesn't have the nice packaging that kpop does anyway

Youre completely right about them not being in sync tbh. But the management just wont let them practice enough, they need their election single on May with the PV filmed on March (most of the time they record it without the final version of the song recorded). Management needs their election single out and they dont care how its gonna look. The poor girls must be exhausted. Album in January (with 4/5 routines more or less for each), single in March (3 new routines for the popular ones), single in May (another 3 routines for the popular ones), national tour going on, theater performances weekly... And let's not talk about concurrent members like Jurina or Sayanee. Not only they have their AKB schedule, but also their SKE/NMB schedules with their own singles being released at the same time.
