A lot of things become overrated when it becomes extremely popular :P Attack On Titan is a good anime, much better than what is currently out there so give it a shot Its not your typical anime with its typical fan service and it has a pretty dark theme

Kiseijuu manga is really great One of the best horror manga I've read. You guys should give it a try.
