It's not even like its such a generic phrase that its excusable, everybody hurts is a slightly peculiar way of phrasing it. And then the second line after it is almost exactly the same. You know she wanted to put cries too because scream doesn't make as much sense. She just totally ripped their chorus/concept. The song is extremely bland and tedious, like if I tried to sing it my voice would probably just trail off into blah blah blah out of boredom. I don't buy it either, it sounds like she's just trying to be relatable above all else but the lyrics are so weak and generic that they wouldnt affect anyone. Well maybe I can picture this song being posted on Facebook by an unintelligent shallow fifteen year old girl who would consider it a deep song, but that's it, its just a really stupid insipid song like that.
*explodes in sheer rage at everybody hurts never to be seen again*
