But making this Taylor vs. Katy/risk thing is stupid because so many country artists have transitioned to pop, even if it were just one or two songs and were accepted. Transitioning to a pop sound is probably the easiest "risk" one can take. Usher making "Scream" and all those other generic songs after making sexy sleek R&B was not a major risk either. If Taylor had done something Hip Hop-influenced or alternative-sounding - something that's not necessarily aimedtowards mainstream audiences, I would be more inclined to think her move was one that was risky.

Well, it was definitely more risky than anything Tity has ever done (she has always stayed PERCHED in the mainstream generic pop music).

I don't know the full details but I think it's a civil case where she wants out of her contract on the grounds their working relationship isn't sustainable because he supposedly raped her
