If Adelephant Did So Well With Her Basic Voice, Perfume Can Slay Bitch
Quote:
WaitingToBeSlayed
Her voice is strong but nothing special tbh. When you hear her songs you don't KNOW it's Adele, it could be Duffy, Amy Winehouse, basically anyone with that kind of singing...
When you hear Perfume the vocals are strong AND unique cause it can only be Britney singing that chorus. The mix of Vocalney and classic Britney is genius and she's coming to slay this time.

Vocalney's voice has always been unique but this time it's really strong too. Adele's is only strong but not unique at all.

Someone really needs to come up with an original video to inspire us, all the concepts lately have been literally the same...it's all boring.
That's why different videos like Rolling in the Donut, Snippet Ladies and We Found Energy to Perform stood out.

Okay, so I know that most of you guys probably won't give a crap and that's fine. I just wanted to say something since I've been a member of this forum since 2006 (though my profile says 2007). I've enjoyed being on Exhale, I think you guys are the funniest ever. Mostly I've just looked and read threads, but it's been fun for me.
I've been a Britney Spears fan since I was 9 years old. She's been the biggest and greatest inspiration to me in many ways. What she did for pop music can never be done again, and I don't think it will be. I have all of her albums, and have been to all the shows she's performed in my country. I've defended her on national television, I've been in heated discussions with A LOT of people trying to convince them that she was in fact the best. I even wrote a huge thesis about her influence on popular culture and young teenagers.
Anyway, for a very, very long time I feel like I've been waiting for her to return to her true form, and I have finally (FINALLY) realized that it's simply not gonna happen. I'm still in doubt about a lot of things, but I have come to the understanding that she is in no way involved with her own career. She does not care about us, she does not care about her music, she does not care about her performances, she does not care about anything but her (beautiful) children. Those two kids are it. I feel like everything she's been doing post Blackout has been for nothing more than financial reasons. The albums, the tours, X Factor and now Las Vegas. She's not doing it for the sake of the art, she's doing it for the sake of the money (That's what I feel). The fact that she even forgot the name of the Work Bitch director.. I can't even.. And that is just a fraction of the lack of interest that she shows. To be honest, I feel like she has already made clear that that's the kind of artist she wanted to be when she posted those personal letters many years ago on her website. Fans as me just never understood it and assumed she meant in a different way.
She is what she want's to be (I hope) and that is great. She is a mediocre artist with an amazing CV. Personally, I would say that she is slowly but surely destroying her reputation with half-assed performances, half-assed music and worst of all: Half-assed music videos. The spark is simply gone. It's a cliche to say that in Britney-world, I know, but it's the truth. Her spark and passion is gone.
I think I was done the minute I met her at the meet and greet during the Femme Fatale Tour. Not because it was over in a minute but because that's pretty much as far as you can go as a fan. Meeting the #1 star on the planet. That was it.
I am and always will be fascinated with the idea of Britney Spears, but is no longer hypnotized and blown away by what she brings to the table.
This is not a diss or anything like that! I respect you guys for loving an artist with so much passion, and I will always be a little bit of a stan deep down, but it is simply time for me to realize that I don't love it (Britney) as much as I once did. Maybe I grew up, maybe Britney didn't. Maybe my taste is just different from what she wants to do. I can't stand Perfume for instance. I think it's one of the worst songs, I have ever heard. I will listen to Britney Jean and I will probably hate it, and with that I can close my Britney chapter.
Thanks to those who read this. Maybe someone will read it and feel the same way or maybe you'll tell me to gtfo.
And Jordan: You are simply awesome and so is Breatheheavy.com.
