I'm really inspired by Kacey Musgraves and her liberal commentary on conservative/small town life. I also love Skylar Grey's ability to write extremely dark, introspective songs over such light beats and vocals. And I love Katy's super vivid imagery and ability to craft an entire song around a central metaphor

Wasn't a massive fan of Pageant Material although I am going to go and listen to it again. But STDP was a masterpiece. I spent everyday for months walking to a field near my house with my earphones in, just to listen to that with no noise around with the breeze blowing I'd just sit and be in awe of how she created such clever lyrics.

One of the most talented young songwriters. Silver Lining, Dandelion, My House and It Is What It Is are my favourites
