Airplanes gave me more of a pop appeal especially since hayley was in it so it had no problem appealing to pop audiences whereas M4L i feel, is leaning more toward straight hip-hip/rap so it'll take longer for it to grow on people that listen to straight up pop but hey IDK i hope i get a slap in the face and it turns out being just as good as airplanes if not better success wise

I don't think a female rapper has ever gotten a #1 by herself. Missy came extremely close with "Work It." It was #2 for like 10 weeks or something like that. Never made it to #1. Nicki needs something extremely better than "Work It" to beat that feat, and no help from other artists.
