Straight male artists can be even be a combination of both and still have commercial success. Think men like Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, The Weekend, etc.

Same. I feel like Adele's success with 25 has been universally embraced. It's such a spectacle to see her shatter all these records, like you are watching an iconic moment in music history unfold.
