1. The people who said American Oxygen sounds like a demo said that from the moment the full song was released. At that point many people still had "hope" for the song. They didn't say one thing and then change their minds after the song failed to smash.
2. Likewise the Four Five Seconds video. People who called it boring said so from the moment the video was released. At that point most people still believed the song would hit #1 after The Grammys. They didn't praise the video and then turn around to call it boring after it failed to hit #1.
3. Talk That Talk and Unapologetic both had #1 songs but people complained about messiness ALL THROUGH those eras.
4. Majority of people hated Tidal and thought it stupid from the moment it was announced. All subsequent songs from the album could hit #1 and it wouldn't change anyone's opinions on Tidal.
5. The "trying too hard to be a serious artist" accusations started coming the moment Four Five Seconds was released and still had every chance of hitting #1.
Need I go on? Lies all around, but who is really surprised?
