At the very least 6M when all is said and done, to have you album scratch that amount is THE HOLY ****ing impressive.

Sales are not bad compared to the other artists'.
Let's not forget that most of them came from the big hype, from the fact that Gaga had two huge previous eras and from her name, of course.

True. But Adele is such an exception... I don't think we will have such a huge album sales like '21'... At least not in the next 3 years maybe...
Exactly. Adele is the exception, so we shouldn't be comparing she and Gaga. We should be comparing the sales of BTW to those of Loud (5.6 million at the end of 2011, with over 6 months of extra sales) or Teenage Dream (4.3 million at the end of 2011, with around 10 months of extra sales).

Already outselling Rihanna's 2nd most succeful album with her weakest album.
OK as much as some people are begging for the Fame era to return, can we at least appreciate Gaga's improvement in her vocals and dancing in particular this era. I remember being blown away by the Grammy performance because you could clearly see her great improvement. That just shows that she is working hard to not only gradually evolve her music but to also better herself as a performer.

Since she has started seeing less and less success, however, there seems to be more and more people turning their backs on it and calling it bad music.
But saying that is like saying Adele didn't deserve to sell 900k+ in one week because sales increase over Christmas It's a natural part of this market, and the sales still count.

My concept of "quality of the era" also includes the videos, the performances (not the vocals, they were always on point), the fashion, her image. I don't see the any progress. Maybe she just improved her dancing skills.

I don't care if BTW isn't super mega selling, it's still my favorite album of 2011 and MTN is still my 3rd favorite Gaga song ever
