Well she did C2C and then the tour, then American Horror Story and has probably only been stuck into #LG5 for the last month or so, plus is hustling for an Oscar for that dreadful "TIl it Happens To You" song. Katy is the real mystery - how she achieved NOTHING during the Prismatic tour, I don't know. But yeah the Gaga/Katy thing is stale and boring, the real enemy is Loose & everyone knows it.

Hi guys,

Bey stan here. Last wknd I spontaneously watched the PWT on youtube and wow it was a colourful blast of energy from start to finish. Its very different to the concerts of my fav that Im used to but it seems really true to Katy's pop music and her personality. Even the album tracks that I dont know were a delight to watch. It's hard to pick a highlight but Birthday is my fav Katy song so perhaps that ( I was worried it wasnt on the setlist as time went by lol) . I might watch it again this wknd

This is literally what the Monsters thought before August 2013. Going in assuming Katy would win another head-to-head is silly, especially considering all the good press Gaga has had lately and time to work on the record. Katy's coming off two underperforming singles and a Christmas buzz ad that did nothing, plus little time to work on a great record between touring.

If their schedules eventually collide I really hope they can both share the spotlight though, rather than it be an all for one, nothing for the other type scenario.

Naah, Katy's lead single is guaranteed to smash. Gaga had good press recently, but Katy is coming from a MASSIVE sold out world tour and the biggest performance of the decade so far. The hype is here for her too. I have absolutely no doubt that her lead single will outshine everyone who releases around the same week.

If Gaga releases her lead in that interval than she loses the battle from the start. Just like Roar vs Applause. Katy would steal the spotlight and her era will do better.

Thanks. I dont know what the concensus is amongst the Kats but i was mad it didnt perform as well as most of her other singles. The video is partially to blame though

The problem is it didn't deserve to be released as a single over songs like WOA and LL.

No matter if we agree on it's quality or succes, it's still one of the worst choices of her career.

I love LL but I think it would have gotten a lot of backlash for cultural appropriation... in saying that Dark Horse's MV had some controversy but that was able to cover up, LL is the whole song... hmm. WoA probably would have worked internationally but I don't think it would have been big in the US, Top 20 like Birthday maybe.

It was an impossible situation after Birthday. If she'd pandered to radio and released WoA/LL there would be the above problems, but since she gave the GP what they wanted, radios refused to play it.

It really does all come back to Birthday tbh. With a great video, TIHWD would have been the fifth single with good airplay another Top 10, and LL could follow and the era momentum would outweigh the backlash. That's the true tea.
