LOL yeah my parents (who are black and older) found the Obama years too liberal for their liking, it really pushed them to the limit+ they're getting increasingly uncomfortable with the direction the party is going. They do love the Clintons though and are relieved she's the nominee.

I just thought it was a good speech for Trump. We all know how bad they can get. He seemed very leader-like. I just didn't agree with his solutions (they were all stupid and not feasible) nor did I like his line with saying Hillary wasn't an ally to the LGBT by using islamaphobia to make the point

A past lawsuit involving Donald Trump accused the billionaire’s Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts of routinely destroying email evidence, according to a new report.

The charge from defendants in a suit initially brought by Trump was never resolved, according to USA Today.

USA Today on Monday reported that Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts, a publicly traded casino company, filed a suit in 2004 against Richard Fields, a former employee.
The suit said Fields reportedly pitched the idea of building a casino with the Seminole Native American tribe in Florida during the 1990s.

But Fields later allegedly told Trump the idea was unfeasible, it added, only to leave the businessman’s employ and implement the plan elsewhere.

USA Today said the companies sued by Trump argued the billionaire’s claims, if true, could be verified by his company’s emails and other records documenting their talks.

Robert Borello, the Trump’s company’s lawyer, then said during a March 2006 hearing that Trump hotels did not retain email records.

“My understanding from speaking to my client is that there are no emails,” he said, according to a transcript obtained by USA Today.

A lot of folks in the Democrat 'coalition' (like blacks and hispanics) would be in the Republican party if it weren't full of angry, racist whites.

This is so true. I know many hispanics and blacks who are socially conservative but refuse to vote republican due to the foul racist rhetoric the party spews constantly

I've come to the revelation that people vote mostly on the economy and security.

Blacks and Hispanics know that Republicans don't have plans that benefit them, and they at least feel welcomed by Democrats. So it's a mix of acceptance and "who has my back".

One other factor is not that they are socially conservative, but rather firm in a set of standard they place of government. Trump his "I'm great and will get it done on my own" is too radical, but Bernie his "Let's make everything free" is just as radical. Obama and Hillary are people that promote the safe and approachable solutions.
