Wonda's official BTW Review
Okay, so after a few days of listening to this album.
I'VE COME TO A CONSENSUS ON WHAT I THINK OF EACH SONG.
So, I'll do my own little review for myself.
Marry the Night 6.5/10
Boring at firstt listen. But I'm starting to slightly appreciate it. Can't say I love it, or even really like it, but it's good. It might grow on me, but I don't see it happening. It's also pretty boring to me and very repetitive. I don't think the hype was worth it.
Born This Way 4/10
This isn't really a good song, nothing groundbreaking, and the lyrics aren't great. The tune is good, and it may get stuck in your head, but just to put into perspective how much I don't care for this song, I stopped playing it in about early March, and haven't heard it willingly since. I got bored of it that quick.
Judas 7/10
Definitely a better single choice than Born This Way, I like the strength of the song, and her style in the bridge. It wasn't great, amazing, fantastic, but it's definitely a nice single.
Scheisse 5.5/10
Ischk flapbin ****shook begawn bay ooksi fooski ***** mon bear.

Hahahah, anywayyzz, I love the part where she's doing her German thing, but I don't care much for the rest of the song. Besides that part and the chorus, I'm just not feeling the song. And I've only listened to it in all its entirety once. I don't think it'll grow on me either.
Government Hooker 2/10
Intro is good. But it quickly fails to impress after that. It gets SOO repetitive, and annoying that I don't even want to hear this song all the way. Maybe in a few months I'll come back and listen to it, but no thank you! Not right now. I can't believe people were obsessing over this song whenever the preview/remix/lq snippet came out. It's soooo messy. Like different beats/vocals were copy and pasted onto Windows Movie Maker by a five year old. SMH GAGA SMH!
Hair 11/10
Thank you God for coming down and bring this song onto Earth. Amazing. Fantastic. Best. Gaga. Song. Ever.

Diz my jam.

I've listened to this songg SOO many times. I've *****d it out like I get paid for it. And I'm still not even remotely tired of itt.

Highway Unicorn (Road To Love) 8/10
Vverryy nice song. I loveeeee the chorus! It's so carefree, and bubbly and I like it

Unlike a lot of other songs on this album, I don't think it's repetitive at all. It's one of those songs you want to sing a long to, but couldn't, and I love that about it.
Americano 3.5/10
Ew.
If it weren't for the bridge, this song would be like a 1.5, the song sounded SOO good when she sang it live, and then I hear the studio version and I wish she didn't even record it. Especially since it reminds me soo muchh of how great Alejandro, was. Idk, just definitely verrry unimpressive. And, it's a joke of a song, I just do not like it, and I hate that because this was one of the songs I was most excited to hear.
Bad Kids 9.5/10
OMGGGGGGG, I neglected this song for soooo long. But I LOVE it. EVERYTHINGGGGGGGGGGG. GIVES ME LIFEE.
"Don't be insecure if your heart is pure."
"You're still good to me, if you're a bad kid babyyy"
I love it, and I feel so bad for neglecting it. It's very different, but not crazy different (see Government Hoe, and its slightly less disturbed brother Scheisse) Thank Youu gagaaaaa.
Heavy Metal Lover 9/10
You & I 4.5/10
Not a fan. Not a fan at all. I was soo looking forward to this being another Speechless type song, but it wasn't. It failed to deliveer, and it sounds like a country song, for a guy. It's not cute. I don't like. I've listened to this song a few times, but I have to cut it off before the end, it's unbearable.
Bloody Mary 9/10
After the greatness that is Hair, this is the song that is next easiest to get into, (Bad Kids is my second favorite, but my first impression of it wasn't great) I loved this song from the beginning, still love it, know the lyrics like I know my gurl Rihanna's lyrics. It's just great. It's dark, but not too dark. And the lyrics are genius. Incredibly catchy.
Electric Chapel 5/10
Don't care for this song. It's not bad, but it seems like it tries too hard to be like some other songs on the album. I could see this being a demo. One of those demos on youtube that are labeled as Lady Gaga, and you're excited to hear it, but when you actually hear it, it's some unknown singer and the song just isn't fantastic. That's the impression I get from it, and I've heard it a few times. But it doesn't draw me in and keep my attention.
Edge Of Glory 7.5/10
This song is like Hair's litttle babyy. I can't say that it's a good third single though, I really like this song, but I always lose interest in it after the second verse. I can't even remember the bridge, but right during the saxophone breakdown, I just lose it and get bored. But the first two or three minutes are FANTASTIC, it's just not consistent.
Basically:
Born This Way is a good album. Actually, I'll go ahead and call it great. A lot of songs are very hard to like and get into, but some songs, once you've gotten into them, you just can't stop listening (Bad Kids, for me being a prime example). Some songs, I'll never get into, some songs I'll forget about in a month. But some songs (HAIRRRR) will forever be appreciated by me. The reason I think the overall grade I'ma give it is so low is because when the songs suck on this album, THEY SUCK. STRAIGHT BALLS. But I LOVEE some of the songs soo much, so I hate the fact that I have to give it this grade.
Grade: 6.5/10
