Her impact upon J-pop and Japan is immeasurable and untouchable; not another female artist has come close. The intensity, quality, and entertainment value of her concerts are sky-high. You want to attend the best concerts? Ayumi is the only way to go. You want to check out the best PVs? Ayumi is your girl. Her collection of music showcases not only her wonderful vocal talent but also that she encompasses all styles and genres of music, and pulls it off flawlessly. Pop, pop rock, rock, metal, R&B, ballad. etc; Ayumi is a master of reinvention and keeps her musical sounds (and image) fresh and new; never stale or "more of the same." One couldn't help but be pleasantly surprised at not only the awesome quality of music Ayumi makes but also the variety of genres. Whether you want the lovely and passionate pop sound of Ayumi's "appears," the powerful rock sounds of Ayumi's "Startin'," "It was," or "Because of You,"; she's got you covered. Or you may be in the mood for the smooth head-bobbing groove of her "In the Corner," or her intense electronic pop "Sparkle." Ballads? You wont find a more poweful and hearfelt ballad than Ayumi's "untitled ~for her~." Growing and exploring different forms of music is an essential part of becoming an amazing artist, and Ayumi has nailed it. The title of her most famous song "evolution" is pehaps the perfect single word to describe Ayumi's career: Ayumi has been the evolution of J-pop. Indeed, she is Japan's Empress of Pop.

LOL, your arguments are pretty bad and I think you should stop while your ahead. You're just making yourself look bad at this point. Ayumi is good, but there are just too many things going for Utada for Ayumi to catch up.

No one is shading Ayumi, we are all just correcting your mistake .
I am pretty sure you stan for Beyonce (sorry if you don't, I don't remember). If you do, then you know how this all works out in the end, sales. Whenever anyone attacks Beyonce, everyone is quick to point out her sales and I don't blame them, she is doing extremely well. Now if we apply the same logic, lets look at Ayumi.
Her last 2 albums have definitely sold less than Utada's last Japanese album, Heart Station. Hell, even This Is The One, Utada's English album sold about the same amount as Rock n' Roll Circus in Japan. .
Ayumi could neva.
And before you point out Ayumi's total sales, keep in mind that she likes to rapidly release her music. She has released many more things than Utada and even then, Utada is doing amazingly.

Ayu is one of Japan's best selling artists.
You cannot mention sales and then try to put up a barrier around a point that is to disadvantageous to you.

, You can believe whatever you want. When was the last time Ayumi sold 1 million of her albums again?
EDIT:BTW, No one says she is not one of Japan's best selling artists. This little tidbit has nothing to do with anything. I am talking about recent sales. who cares about past sales right now. We are talking about the CURRENT Queen of J-pop. Clearly it does not belong to Ayumi.

I agree with you ..
Which is why I am lookng at only recently released material. I am not comparing Ayumi's current work with Utada's earlier work. That would be unfair.

Take it to Stand Your Ground if you care this much.
I'm sure no one will follow you because we were done with you ages ago.

I wonder if Hurricane Venus is called Typhoon Venus in Asia?
Typhoon is what they call Hurricanes in Asia for those who don't know.

K, Utada doesn't release nearly as much is Ayu which may possibly explain Utada's total albums sales, and Ayu didn't promote RocknRoll Circus at all which explains it's sales, so it looks like we are even concerning our points here.

^Ayumi performed on Music Station twice for 'Rock n Roll Circus' promo so idk what your talking about.
Ayumi's album sales have been decreasing with each album. She just isn't as popular as she once was point blank.
