Exactly this too. A single (especially lead) may require months of promotion and pushing. At the very least, an entire month and a half with radio, television performances and magazine interviews. Zendaya legit gave this song like 2 weeks of radio promo and was gone.

I figured though that they would be cancelling the single because of all Chris Brown's bad press lately (which i stated a few pages back). It basically took until Chris made the bad press personal for Zendaya for this song to basically declare its own death. Now she really can't release the video without feeling like she's betraying her friend and all the gossip sites thinking she took Chris' side and not Kehlani's.

This whole thing is a muddled mess now. I just feel bad for her fans who sat up voting and promoting endlessly when Zendaya herself didn't even care and now she REALLY doesn't care considering this new drama.

The fact that she went on two different TV shows that air nationwide and didn't bother to perform the song.

I assume that they've given up on the single and that the entire era is now put on hold. She's going to start shooting Spider-Man soon, so there will be absolutely no time left for promotion and music related stuff.

By the way, she's set to perform at Wango Tango in like 45 days. I wonder if she's going to perform Something New, Replay or a new song.

The single has been dead and a feature with Chris Brown has not helped any of these new urban pop girls. In fact, it may have actually hurt their chart performance.

But it's not just about Chris. In general, a lot of people feel "meh" about Zendaya and her music. I feel like this era has potential, but she needs to be a lot more strategic and really come hard if she plans to make it the music industry. Nobody cares that you are a Disney darling anymore. That isn't going to make the general public buy your music.

But all of this is moot if she has decided to focus solely on acting. She may have better luck in the film industry anyway.

That is dumb because she could have released this earlier and actually had a top 20 it was already too late now

IDK y'all, at this point every time I see this thread I just get pressed as hell. The song was actually GOOD, and it had so much potential. It's still gaining on Rhythmic and now Urban is starting to be consistently positive although the updates are rather smaller... despite Pop DROPPING this like a dime. If she already signed up for this Spiderman **** then go ahead sweetheart. But what I'mma need her to do is start teasing some new **** at this Wango Tango event, drop something new (n no pun intended

) in July / August, then come through with the album in the Fall. I expect her to pull an Ari and tease the **** out of random songs on Snap / IG in the meanwhile, since this single practically got us all hyped for an era that is clearly put on hold.

Republic Playbook removed it from Rhythmic format as well.

The single is completely done. They should scrap the video and think about what's next.

This is why I don't stan anyone anymore. If I paid for the single, I would be pissed rn.

Lemme focus on artists who actually are interested in their music career. I feel bad for the Zendaya stans though. They were doing so many polls, surveys, and requesting just for this mess to happen. That could not be me. I would be dragging her endlessly and emailing her team and iTunes for a refund.
