Same here. I wish Shakira a lot of success, but I just can't get into this song. Probably because everytime I hear it, I keep thinking of that puppet from the muppets. Fozzy Bear I think is what it's name was. It always said "waka waka"!

Luckily here in the U.S., it's only doing well digitally because of FIFA, and it's not really making too big of a dent on radio.

Yeah...plus the effect is minimized here in the US because not everyone enjoys soccer as much as some other countries.

Thank goodness. I hate it when all these sports events get huge publicity and everything, and everyone says sports bring everyone together, etc. Music does it even better, yet award shows don't get anywhere near the same publicity. Ticks me off sometimes that people put sports above music. The same thing happens at my school where our terrible football team who didn't even win a game last year gets more money and publicity over the band who wins tons of awards and brings more enjoyment to football games than the actual players.

Like I said, barely a dent. Latin radio in American isn't very evenly spread. Only the markets with large Hispanic populations have Latin stations, which are few and far in between. In fact, I don't think there's a Latin station in my state at all. Maybe one in St. Louis, but it's most likely and AM one.
