We should probably keep in mind that NSYNC sold 2.4 million when piracy was unchecked and people actually had to go to the record store to purchase the album.
This whole "you had to go the store to buy it!" is so lame. Album sales were around their peak back then and piracy + streaming were not decimating the music industry.
The fact that only one other artist has done 1m+ since 2010 says it all.
Adele ain't letting up until her last single in 2017. Then we get a 2-3 year break from her slayage.
I'm stocking up on extra toilet paper, water and other essentials because i wasn't fully prepared for ha this time.
Whew.
~450k were the confirmed ITunes pre-orders before the album release.
So it sold around the same amount on its first day on ITunes only.
+ 100k pre-orders from Amazon (not counting the sales after release)
= 1,000,000+ sales only across digital platforms in its first day
And all those physical units it's selling. Insane, absolutely insane.
I'm sure Billboard and/or HDD will confirm the first-day in their official predictions. There's probably a larger than normal margin of error from the reported Friday sales and need additional time to really gather the data.

I cannot. There are no words for this. The slayage is just out of this world. I'm just happy I could bear witness and contribute to this historic event.
Sorry boo boos, BEYONCÉ will probably hold the record of most downloaded album in 1 week on iTunes
Celebrate Adele and forget Bey for a second please. Why is Bey always on your minds even when you're witnessing history that has nothing to do with her?
The record has already been snatched.
You can cry as much as you want about pre-orders. The bottom line is ALL 900K of those sales were paid for YESTERDAY which erases my girl Yoncé's record. completely. In Apple's books they sold 900K copies of "25" yesterday.
