Well just because it wasn't received well doesn't mean people were expecting a serious video. Parody isn't an excuse for cringeworthy/corny. Just like many entertainment genres, comedy/parody can be poorly executed. For example Shane Dawson makes parodies but just because they are supposed to be "light hearted" doesn't mean they are good or funny in anyway.
I actually liked Britney's acting tbh. I was genuinely shocked to see her so alive and animated. Iggys acting was bad, but that's not what even ruined it. The scene didn't really make much sense, the script was bad. "Totally", on it's own isn't really that much of a funny punch line.
