I would recommend Dierks. Like mentioned above, he's the best

Riser, his most recent album, is excellent. The best album of 2014 for me.

Try out Bourbon in Kentucky (with backing vocals from Kacey Musgraves). It's an absolutely huge song: urgent, affecting, powerful stuff.
