Do it again in Pompeii. Say something. I said SAY SOMETHING!
And I gotta get away now. Excuse me.
(And of course we all listened to "Say Something" because of Christina. We sure as hell were not listening for A Great Big World. )

Welp, I think it's time to close this thread and start a new countdown and put Prayer In God top50 at least.

Headlights is a very personal song so I wouldn't say it's a good or bad one. Why did Best of My Life and Say Something not make it to the top 100 especially the latter? Pompeii is still in my top 100 despite it being so old. Well, Adam doesn't really care about his band's musical direction anymore and that is really sad.

Damn. A lot has happened here. Where do I start?
Let me see the recap for artists on where did I left off. My fav artists are The Killers, Tinashe, Calvin Harris, Tove Lo, Vampire Weekend, Hozier, AM , Sam Smith, FTP, Shakira, Coldplay, Ed, Haim, AF, The 1975, Lana , and Bey. Of course Tay is your #1. I mean, who else?
The top 150 songs! Here I go
150-141: Why you gotta be so rude? To Rude that is. Oh, well. At least it’s here. The guitiar riff in the chorus in Arabella is so good. The Dreaming song kinda annoyed and couldn’t get into it. Come a Little Closer was on my countdown last year, but it was in the low spots. I do like Money on my mind and Girls/Girls/Boys made my on deck party. Yay!
140-131: Ahh, what the magic of radio could do to make them really hate a song esp. if the song is called “Happy.” Kinda ironic less someone is so happy to see people react this way. We Are Done is a different musical approach then their old works. Lost Stars is decent, Dare (LA LA LA) is a good bop and personally, it was my World Cup song (should’ve been the official WC song, but whatever). Damn. Matthew. You have such a high-pitched voice that you were mistaken for a girl. Find You was alright, but I don’t like it anymore. Zedd, change it up! John Doe is not bad. I still want to check out his album. I heard Wrong Club in someone’s Best of and I really like. It’s better than their recent stuff and so different than their earlier stuff.
130-121: I do like Settle Down, but I know at least a couple of songs that I like better than this. I already heard The Walker and I really liked it. So catchy and fun. Glad it had some commercial exposure. Perfume is my guilty pleasure. Not on Drugs is good, maybe not that good, but I like it. Bridges is nice.
120-111: Until it’s Gone is good and has a nice message. Do it Again is a nice dance track, yeah, The Monster was basically recreating Love the Way You Lie, but I still like the song. Left Hand Free is crazy and wacky and I like it. Falling does take me to a wonderful place,
110-101: Good comment on Headlights, Best Day of my Life keeps me going even in the bad time as I strive for my best day. I already heard the solo version of Say Something and adding X-Tina was a great bonus that got them a hit. So yes, her impact. Talk Dirty to me and cue the horns! The Miranda/Carrie song disappointed me too. An EDM song with meaning? What about Don’t You Worry Child? It had a message. A basic one, but a message nonetheless. Well, I never heard of the original version of Prayer in C, but the Robin remix is such a pleasant experience. I still like Pompeii and Maps is a bop.
Great stuff so far. Ready for the top 100! Awesome Best of thus far.

Oh wow, the layout for your singles countdown is simply the stunning. The best this year, without a doubt.
142. Money on My Mind - made mine also! I'll have to find the performance with Taylor.
119. This Is How We Do - a good song from Katy Love it.
107. Air Balloon - Some people couldn't get over the MIA comparisons, I really didn't care. I love the song.

Can't Remember to Forget You (feat. Rihanna)
Shakira
2013: Breezeblocks - Alt-J
Peak: #20
Weeks: 9
This was a collaboration that excited everyone when it was announced. Perhaps we were all expecting a dance pop Latin influenced bop, but instead we got this pop rock tinged track. It's not a bad song, it's perhaps a "rawer' sound for them and the song doesn't have a huge epic sound that would slay us to our knees. But it's a good song and a very interesting work. |

Invisible
Hunter Hayes
2013: Changing of the Seasons - Two Door Cinema Club
Peak: #8
Weeks: 9
I was a bit excited for new Hunter material since I really liked his debut album. Invisible was not too bad at first. I liked it's message and his vocal performance in the studio track. But for some reason I got tired of it really quickly and subsequently my interest in him dwindled. But my interest in his body hasn't. |

All About You
Hilary Duff
2013: Berzerk - Eminem
Peak: #7
Weeks: 7
So, was this the real lead single, or a rush release to save the embarrassment that is Chasing the Sun? Anyways, this is quite a good country-tinged bop though it's a little basic but of course it's not as bad as CTS. Sadly no one was here for it still, so whatever the plan was was a flop. Plus, the video is downright lame. Girl secretly snaps a pic of a man and spends the next day hunting him down? Is that not signalling creepy alarms??? |

Up We Go
Lights
2013: Baby I - Ariana Grande
Peak: #12
Weeks: 12
This was the first Lights song that I've ever heard thanks to Anna forcing me to listen to it. I'm so glad that I did cuz it made me check out her amazing album too. This is such an uplifting song that never fails to put me in a great mood. It's pop perfection basically. |

9 6 |
Bang Bang
Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj
2013: Supersoaker - Kings of Leon
Peak: #10
Weeks: 8
I was surprised when I found out that this collab was happening. Like, how did Jessie J manage to recruit Ariana and Nicki into a song with her? Well, with that combination the song was destined to be a hit. It was not too bad at first listen, but I got bored of it a bit. But the constant TV promo for this song that lasted for months just further seared the song into my mind. |

9 5 |
Reflektor
Arcade Fire
2013: The Wire - HAIM
Peak: #2
Weeks: 9
This was the first Arcade Fire song that I listened to. It did not impress me at first. I thought it was way too long and repetitive and the chorus was so anti-climatic. Thankfully another song (that will be a lot higher on the countdown) convinced me to check out the album and from there I loved this song. When you pay attention to every detail on the song, it's just such a masterpiece. And this is a great song to groove and dance to. |

9 4 |
Latch (feat. Sam Smith)
Disclosure
2013: Holding On To You - twenty | one | pilots
Peak: #11
Weeks: 10
So... this song is ANCIENT but I (and the US) only caught onto it this year. Disclosure has a nice sound, their music isn't too EDM-ish but it feels more laid back and cool. Plus Sam Smith is amazing too of course. |

All About That Bass
Meghan Trainor
2013: Scream & Shout (feat. Britney Spears) - will.i.am
Peak: #8
Weeks: 11
I don't really know what to say about this song. It's just so so so so so catchy even though on the surface it's actually sonically and structurally a very unexciting and boring song. But somehow it's ingrained in all our minds. And I guess Meghan's sass is really cool. Go ahead and tell em skinny bitches that! |

9 2 |
Let It Go
Idina Menzel or Demi Lovato
2013: King & Lionheart - Of Monsters and Men
Peak: #19
Weeks: 7
Well well well this song is simply inescapable. There are so many reasons why this song is so epic. The movie was epic, Idina is pretty epic, the Demi remix is cute, the song itself is quite well done etc. I don't really have much to say actually. |

Don't
Ed Sheeran
2013: Backseat Serenade - All Time Low
Peak: #8
Weeks: 9
Oops Ellie. People keep calling this song a Justin T song, though I just feel it's only an extension of Ed's hip-hop side with R&B and soul influences. Don't is quite a scathing song, as Ed exposes all these details about how a girl ****ed with his love. I love Ellie. But Ed better tell his truth! |
That's the first set of the top 100! In the next set:
- A little girl, or at least we like to pretend she's of that age.
- The lead single of this lady which reminds of Royals.
- I just mentioned her song.
- A remix of a perfect, unblemished, unmarked, unimpaired song.
Thank you guys for commenting!
