- With over 200 plays in 2007, "D.A.N.C.E" is just a ****ing amazing track. I loved it from the beginning with the radio station signals to the melodic beats faded down at the end. "D.A.N.C.E." is the first anticipated single off their new album "Cross". Because they are a huge fan of Micheal Jackson, they dedicated this song to him as well as using references from various Michael Jackson songs like "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" or "Black or White". The vocals in this song was sung by the London based Foundation for Young Musicians choir, and I think it just fits perfectly with the melody. "D.A.N.C.E." has this catchy beat and chorus and I can't help but sing along to the main chorus that goes "Do the D.A.N.C.E, 1 2 3 4 Fight! Stick to the B.E.A.T, Get ready to ignite!" Justice defines a huge transition in electronic music since Daft Punk, and not to mention that this song was a huge hit in 2007. The track was nominated for Video of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards by the genius director duo, Jonas & François. Their videos are so creative and this clip is probably one of my favorite videos of 2007. I can say that the video made me like the track more and more everytime I watched it. "D.A.N.C.E." is a Schoolhouse Rock-esque filter-disco track that made a crossover between the genre of electronic and pop. Therefore in 2007, while everyone was humming "Ella Ella Ella Ey Ey Ey"; however, for the electronic fans at heart they were humming "Do the D-A-N-C-E, 1-2-3-4 Fight!".
Past #1's
2004: Jay-Z - 99 Problems
2005: Mariah Carey - We Belong Together
2006: Christina Aguilera - Hurt
Thank you for reading and commenting on this thread. It was a great year in music, and I can't wait for the good stuff in 2008! See you next year with my list of top 30 joints for 2008!
D.A.N.C.E. sure is one hell of an addicting song. If I hadn't caught on to the song so late, it very well would have been on my list. Great overall list.
