Born This Way hit me instantly, with Artpop I've had to almost force myself to listen to the songs until I like them and that...isn't what music should be, it should instantly speak to you, for me the lyrics on TFM and BTW were what made it and Artpop just doesn't have the same quality lyric wise, it's still got Gaga's trademark all over it but it doesn't have the same oomph for me, she has toned it down too much.
This album will go down better with the GP than her fans in my opinion (other than the hardcore fans who would never admit to not loving one of her songs,yeah I see you), it feels like a step backwards creatively. I kind of wish she would have done it in volumes if she wanted to dip into this many genres and styles, a I Am...Sasha Fierce type deal would have been cool. I'm still open minded, the snippets may just not have done the music justice, here's to hoping.

You don't see anything, I actually agree with you and with LQ songs that we have right now, I still think BTW is her best album. But it's not meant to be seen in the same perspective as BTW, it's a very fun and light album which is nice for a change from Gaga. Personally, I prefer her darker image, but we can't really judge it yet until we got it in full HQ.
