The fact this has been repeated so many times in this thread amuses me. Are the haters that eager to condemn her that they won't even bother to read/look at the reason she did this?
I'm actually interested in trying this because it's so unconventional I'm curious to find out how the method works and how I'd experience it, what it would do for me
But why did she record it and have it uploaded to the web for everyone to see? Surely she isn't attention seeking because her music alone is incapable of handing her blog space and headlines? Surely the monster-proclaimed queen of pop wouldn't have to resort to such measures for promo and hype for her comeback? Is this how she responds to being absent on the list of most relevant artists?

I disagree. Gaga is definitely trying to make this into a performance art piece, otherwise it wouldn't include the yellow horned mask, bizarre sound effects, slow opening of the eyes et all for entertainment value. This is definitely timed to coincide with her release of Applause.
