OMG this song! First that came to mind when
I started typing the entry! Do I need to say more
or you could just read the lyrics? This song in me
is waking up feelings of sadness, but I somehow
enjoy that feeling.
I am crying right now, bye!

♫ Nobody's Business
To be honest, it was quite hard to me to send this
song. Nevermind what everybody thinks about this
song, it's fitting for this trinity. It shows how happy
and enjoyable love can be.
❤ Bon Jovi
♫ Always
Ok, this whole thing couldn't be done without the
king of love songs, Bon Jovi. And this song brings so
much memories for me. I remember when I was
little I listened to this song and dreamed about how would
I spend time with my girlfriend. I was a mess.

First off is a song that talks about the inspirational, empowering side of love. It mentions all the positive effects love has, and it reassures the significant other that love will make sure everything is gonna be okay in the end.
Now we hear about the opposite side of love - the dark, dangerous side of it. This song describes idealizing someone to the point where you dependso much on them that your life just consists of following them wherever they go.
I, I follow, I follow you,
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark doom honey, I follow you

PARAMORE Still Into You
It's not a walk in the park to love each other
But when our fingers interlock, can't deny, can't deny
You're worth it
Wanting to close my trinity on a positive note, this tune talks about still being in love after many years of being with your lover, and how it's worth sticking through the tough times together. It shows the happy side of love.

GEORGE MICHAEL
C A R E L E S S ♥ W H I S P E R
This pleading comes in the form of one of the biggest love songs of all time
and a #1 on the Billboard Year End Chart of 1985.
It talks about the carelessness one has towards their partner
and realizing that your mistake has cost you something valuable.
In essence, the song is an elaborate way of saying
"don't cheat your loved ones because in the end, it is you who gets cheated."
Needless to say, it's a complex ballad with a marvelous sax instrumental
that makes you melt and not take love for granted.
GRACE JONES
L A ♥ V I E ♥ E N ♥ R O S E
While Èdith Piaf's version provides a more raw emotion,
it is Grace's version that connects to me the most
with its exotic flavor that adds more passion to the romance.
Representing true love, it is the ultimate song about
being meant for each other.
Grace sings in both French and English about a man
who is just perfect for her,
a man who says and does all the right things
and just the instant gratification of finding the one.
Basically the ideal love we all dream about.
ALICIA KEYS
T R Y ♥ S L E E P I N G ♥ W I T H ♥ A ♥ B R O K E N ♥ H E A R T
A song about trying to make it after
a break up you wish you could mend,
Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart is about healing.
Throughout the song, Alicia reminisces on the good times
and tries to hold onto those moments instead of
accepting reality which is not so pleasant.
It's a naïve concept but one that I'm familiar
with in past relationships that were destructive
but had its positives. It seems counter intuitive to hold
onto the special moments but it is those times
that help you move on.

This song embodies one of the most engaging parts about love: forgiveness. When you love somebody, you're not only able to ask for forgiveness if you've done something wrong but also able to forgive someone who has done wrong to you. ‘’Hurt’’ exemplifies that perfectly through a simple piano instrumentation and a stellar vocal performance.
2. Heaven - Bryan Adams.
Love gives you the feeling that you are in a heaven or in a surreal paradise right here on Earth. And to achieve this sensation, all there needs to be is an emotional bond between two people. Nothing else. This specific version of the song highlights this very well, especially because it’s very stripped down and raw, which just adds to its magical, heavenly () feel.
3. The Power of Love - Celine Dion.
I mostly just love this song because not only was it one of the most quintessential love songs from the 90’s, but the vocal delivery really does volumes in elevating the feel of a deep, strong love between two people. It’s perfect.

It goes without saying that there's no shortage of songs about love. Especially, it seems, in the world of pop music. Because I want each of these songs to speak for itself, I'm going to switch it up just a little bit. In lieu of three separate descriptions, I'll provide just a few sentences explaining my selection process for this round.
When I first read this round's theme, I immediately began brainstorming ways to make my entry stand out from the rest. I thought at first that I might dedicate one song to each of the three different types of love (eros, philos, and agape). In addition to considering allotting songs to love's different faces, I also briefly thought about maybe shining some light on what those faces can bring: heartache, vulnerability, grief, and some of the other not-so-great hazards of the territory.
But then I realized that songs about true love at its irrevocable, selfless, infinite, giving, and passionate best are worth all three spots in any trinity... and then some. I'd go so far as to say that each one of these beautiful, profound compositions is a favourite of all time. When I listen to them, all I feel is love -- love that gives and doesn't count the cost. Here lies exactly what love sounds like to me. Enjoy.

A song is about true love, a love you find once in a life time, (one unfortunately found with the right person at the wrong time)and they just want to lay there forever in that moment because of the others in their life, they had to walk way. He is asking her before they get too old to someday forget what their told(to put their happiness aside to keep their others happy) and one day for her to bring alive for him that garden that is waiting to burst into life with her...Now, I call that love.

This one is clearly about the strength of love this man has for whoever it may be. He clearly loves this person so much, he doesn't want to miss a thing. He dosent even want to sleep with being afraid that he will miss a moment with his love, even while she is asleep..

The song is about Kelly getting married to Brandon Blackstock and I think it shows the best a story of love between two people and not necessary them. Even though the song is country, it has a bit of a rock vibe.
2. Paramore - Still Into You
This song shows the type of love that never dies. Hayley sings that "after all this time I'm still into you". This means that the long is gonna last a lot of time. Also, the line " I should be over all the butterflies" says that she should be over all the emotions that she gets from her lover, but she can't. After this she remember all the beautiful moments spent together, like meeting his mother and saying I love you
3. Christina Perri - A Thousand Years
In my opinion, this song is about being afraid to fall in love, but still being in love with that person and you can't resist to stay away from the love. Christina shows the best this feelings in a very passionate way and saying that their love is gonna last many years from now on.

BEING IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE WHO LIVES FAR AWAY
This song is about being in love with someone who lives far away, and that you'll do everything to be with that person.
I know there's a English version of the song but the lyrics of the Spanish version are more meaningful.
Lyrics (translation)
Lucky you were born that far away so
We could both make fun of distance
Lucky that I love a foreign land for
the lucky fact of your existence
Baby I would climb the Andes solely
To count the freckles on your body
With you I celebrate and suffer everything,
My joy and my sadness
Le ro lo le lo le
Le ro lo le lo le
You know that
I'm at your feet
With you, my darling,
I want to live this life
What's left of my life,
I want to live it with you (x2)
Lucky that my lips not only mumble
They spill kisses like a fountain
Lucky that my breasts are small and humble
So you don't confuse them with mountains
Lucky I have strong legs like my mother
To run for cover when I need it
And these two eyes that for no other
The day you leave will cry a river
Le ro lo le lo le
Le ro lo le lo le
You know that
I'm at your feet
With you, my darling,
I want to live this life
What's left of my life,
I want to live it with you (x2)
Le ro lo le lo le
Le ro lo le lo le
You know that
I'm at your feet
Le ro lo le lo le
Le ro lo le lo le
The happiness
That your name and skin bring
With you, my darling,
I want to live this life
What's left of my life,
I want to live it with you
You know, my darling
I'm crazy for you
If you feel the way I do,
I want you to stay with me (x2)

Love comes in many forms; the casual, the beautiful, and the everlasting. All three are in my trinity.
Toni Braxton - You Mean the World to Me
I wasn’t always the go-to-ballad type of guy, but Toni made me a believer in ballads from a young age with this song. "You Mean the World to Me" was released as a single in 1993; I was only three around the time, so I didn’t have the cognitive abilities to realize how beautiful of a song this is. The beauty in this song is that it’s not your run-of-the-mill love song at first listen. It’s more like a come back to love song, but that’s what makes it a strong candidate for my love trinity. You fall in love, you fall out of love, you come back and make up, then you realize that this is what love is. It’s not perfect, it’s not linear, but if you find that one person you can sing this to or play for, that means that’s true love.
Chrisette Michele - Golden
Have you ever heard a song that was perfectly crafted to be your wedding song? I did. Chrisette Michele’s “Golden” reminds me how far love has fallen nowadays, but it also promises that love can be brought back to its purest form back in the golden years. It’s a diamond in the dozen, and it shines beautifully in my mind and my heart. I hope one day I’ll meet the women of my dreams that I can sing this to on our wedding day. It’s exactly how I want our marriage to be, golden and everlasting.
Luther Vandross - Dance with My Father
I love my daddy. I love my father so much, I hope I never, ever have to sing this song. EVER. This song displays how much someone can love their parents, and how much they mean to them in their world. I couldn’t imagine losing my father, and I pray everyday that I never have to. He’s always been there for me, and he always cares. So, to appreciate his love and his affection, I wanna dedicate one spot in this trinity to him. I love you daddy, and I hope to see you soon.
This song represents pure, true love. The message of the song is simple; experiencing an innocent love that evokes a young and carefree time in someone's life, love that is euphoric and surreal, love that allows you to feel young forever and love that makes you feel like you have found the one of your dreams. 'Teenage Dream' does an excellent job at capturing what true love is.
•
"I know you don't care too much, but I still care."
This song represents tortuous and impossible love that you cannot escape. Love that is so strong and addicting, that even when the other person no longer loves you or cares, your love for them still burns stronger than ever. Love is not always pretty and simple - it can be dirty, dark, and dangerous. It stands as a testament to love that will last no matter what struggles or strife someone goes through.
•
"And after all that we've been through, I know we're cool."
This song represents past love and moving on from love you had in your life. Being able to recognize and reminiscence a nostalgic part of your life is yet another side to love, along with having the ability to move on and be cool with your past lover.

For this challenge, I decided to define the meaning of Love a bit. As noted here I was one of the first to ask a question about the exact definition of love that Collin wanted to use. He responded saying that romantic love is not the only kind of love and he's right, there are many kinds. So I decided to take a risk a bit and use 3 separate definitions: platonic love, romantic love, and broken love. This is the trinity that best fits my vision of The Love Trinity.
♥ Kate Bush - Snowflake
from 50 Words For Snow
lyrics
I was born in a cloud
Now I am falling.
I want you to catch me.
Look up and you'll see me.
You know you can hear me.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
We're over a forest.
There's millions of snowflakes.
We're dancing.
The world is so loud. Keep falling and I'll find you.
I am ice and dust. I am sky.
I can see horses wading through snowdrifts.
My broken hearts, my fabulous dances.
My fleeting song, fleeting.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
My broken hearts, my fabulous dance.
My fleeting song.
My twist and shout.
I am ice and dust and light. I am sky and here.
I can hear people.
I think you are near me now.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
We're over a forest.
It's midnight at Christmas.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
I think I can see you.
There's your long, white neck.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
Now I am falling.
Look up and you'll see me.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
In a moment or two.
I'll be with you.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
Be ready to catch me.
The world is so loud. Keep falling. I'll find you.
Kate Bush and her son sings on this track together about their platonic love for each other, the first type of love for my trinity. Kate writes this song when her son could still use his choir voice. From the birth in the cloud, the snowflake falls (her son) and is searching for his mother. The mother sings softly and passionately about finding her son, as per the lyrics "the world is so loud, keep falling, I'll find you." I don't want to explain too much, the song itself is very representative of motherly and tenderly love. This song is my personal favorite of the three.
♥ Bjork - Joga
from Homogenic
lyrics
all the accidents that happen
follow the dot
coinsidense makes sense
only with you
you don't have to speak
i feel
emotional landscapes
they puzzle me
then the riddle gets solved and you push me up to this:
...state of emergency...
...how beatuiful to be!...
...state of emergency...
...is where i want to be...
all that no-one sees
you see
what's inside of me
every nerve that hurts you heal
deep inside of me
you don't have to speak - i feel
emotional landscapes
they puzzle me
confuse
then the riddle gets solved and you push me up to this:
...state of emergency...
...how beatuiful to be!...
...state of emergency...
...is where i want to be...
...state of emergency...
...state of emergency...
In the second definition of love, romantic love, Bjork talks about how love puts her in a "state of emergency". The heavy industrial like beats, along with with the solemn strings really add emphasis on how crazy love is when you are in it. Love is so confusing, you are not feeling safe but you love every minute of it. That's what love really is to Bjork and this was another great, if not perfect choice, for the love trinity.
♥ Christina Aguilera - Hurt
from Back 2 Basics
lyrics
Seems like it was yesterday when I saw your face
You told me how proud you were but I walked away
If only I knew what I know today
Ooh ooh
I would hold you in my arms
I would take the pain away
Thank you for all you've done
Forgive all your mistakes.
There's nothing I wouldn't do
To hear your voice again.
Sometimes I wanna call you but I know you won't be there
Oh, I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself by hurting you
Some days I feel broke inside but I won't admit
Sometimes I just wanna hide 'cause it's you I miss
And it's so hard to say goodbye when it comes to this, ooh, whoa
Would you tell me I was wrong?
Would you help me understand?
Are you looking down upon me?
Are you proud of who I am?
There's nothing I wouldn't do
To have just one more chance
To look into your eyes and see you looking back
Oh, I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself, oh, oh, oh.
If I had just one more day
I would tell you how much that I've missed you since you've been away
Oh, it's dangerous
It's so out of line
To try and turn back time
I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself by hurting you
Out of all the songs in my trinity, this is by far the most known and is the only one made by a big name artist. I know many people in this challenge would probably stay away from bigger artists to seem more avante garde, but there is nothing ashamed of mainstream. Aguilera sings about having one more chance and she is sorry for hurting her lover, the type of love obviously being the heart-broken love. The lyrics are also self explanatory in this song. This and the 2nd one are tied for my second favorite, both are gems in my mind.

The bright beautiful side when being with that special someone or the dark side where love can stab you in the back when you're not looking. Realistically, love is a double edged sword. Love is bittersweet, in which one flavor can beat the other. Hopefully the songs I've chosen will show what love really is.
LOVE SONG No. 1 A Thousand YearsbyCHRISTINA PERRI
Darlin', Don't Be Afraid
Christina Perri has always been one of my favorite indie artists and this is a song that I feel like describes the whole feeling of being afraid to fall in love but when that one special someone comes along and really touches your heart and feelings makes everything you've fear gone in a split second. Love is known to be deceiving but with that person that you want to share your life with, you know that nothing in the world can hurt you with your lover guarding you. "I will be brave, I will not let anything take away, what's standing in front of me" Just chose exactly what love is; protecting the one you love from anything that might take them away from you, with all their passion.
LOVE SONG No. 2 EuphoriabyLOREEN
Sail Into Infinity
It's that euphoric moment that you share with your lover that makes all the pain and waiting all worth it. Those moments are probably the spark needed to keep the fire of love alive. Those moments where you feel at the top of the world and whatever is happening outside doesn't matter. It's just you to at the top of the world exchanging the love and enjoying that connection. "Forever we sail into infinity, we’re higher, we’re reaching for divinity" Loreen describes that sensual connection as everlasting and infinite throughout the song and it's divine impact on our lives. Love is that moment, that feeling, when you and your lover are one. That euphoric sensual moment.
LOVE SONG No. 3 You've Got the LovebyFLORENCE + THE MACHINE
You Know It's Real
When you find that love in someone, they become so important to you. They are reason why you came up in the morning and fight throughout the day just to reach them at the end of it. They got the love that makes it all worth while. The love you find is stunning and something so precious to you that you're scared that you'll never find anything like it before, so you hold on to it. "Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air, I know I can count on you" Counting on the one you love to catch you before you fall, building that trust is so important in a relationship because then everything is sweeter.

Probably the best love song ever recorded. It's truly the most timeless love song that sounds perfect in almost every form. I really don't think this song needs any more explanation.
Begin Again- Taylor Swift
Taylor's best love song, by far. It perfectly exemplifies the feeling of renewing one's belief in love, and how once you find the "the one" you'll know. Everything from the lyrics to the instrumental are just flawless representations of love that makes this song a perfect member of this trinity.
Teenage Dream- Katy Perry
In my opinion this is the best pop song released this decade. It brings back feelings of being in love with that person that makes you the happiest. Obviously by the song title, it's about how being with the person that you love makes you feel like a kid again, and I believe that's what love should be.

Sparks Fly - Taylor Swift
Everyone has that moment where they experience that feeling of falling in love. This is Taylor's very lyrical description on it. Taylor is getting a contact high from being around her love interest. She's feeling happiness and excitement all at the same time. His gives her such pleasure with just his presence, that she's seeing firework shows just by touching his hair as she sings "I run my fingers through your hair and watch the lights go wild", she truly is captivated by his firework show and everyday is the fourth of July when she's around him. The song captures the true experience she had and by the time the song is over you feel as if you just experienced it with her.
Love You Like A Love Song - Selena Gomez & The Sence
As soon as you click play, you hear a heartbeat like instrumental pounding through your earphones, Selena begins to compare her love interest to a love song. Singing "his melody will play on and on with the best of em", She really wants to capture his true self, his melody is so unique and like no other, like any good love song, they all have different melodies, no two melodies are identical because no two relationships are the same. She sings the Chorus "I love you like a love song baby" saying she loves him like any good song, he has the quality, the catchy hooks, and the heartbeat.
We Belong Together - Mariah Carey
This is special different type of love song. Mariah sings "I should have held on tight, I never shoulda let you go", meaning this love song is after the relationship has ended. She begins to describe what she's been going through after the fact, she's feeling crazy and missing him so much that it's tearing her up inside. She can't even turn the radio with out hearing a love song on the radio. Many people think love songs are all sunshine and happiness but obviously not in this type of situation and no one considers the negative effects love songs can have on a relationship after it has ended, no one thinks love songs could hurt anyone but obviously Mariah was hurting and couldn't bear to hear a song on the radio, as she sings "So I turn the dial Trying to catch a break And then I hear Babyface "I only think of you" And it's breaking my heart I'm trying to keep it together But I'm falling apart". But she still is sure of herself and feels strong of the love they once shared singing "We Belong Together" without hesitant, she knows where he belongs and it's with her.
I still remember the first time I met the person of my dreams. It was prom might - my senior year. I didn't go to prom when I was a junior since I didn't want to go alone, and I wasn't dating anyone. I wasn't dating anyone my senior year, either. I wanted to go because I knew it would be my last chance. What did I have to lose anyway, right?
I went to prom in casual wear. I was surprised I was allowed in...maybe the school just didn't care enough about the dress code to enforce it. I stood by the punch bowl awkwardly - half-regretting my decision to come to the prom. In fact, I was just about to throw my cup away and leave when a boy came up to me and asked to dance. I was bored out of my mind and figured dancing might make me have a bit more fun, so I said yes.
We got on to the dance floor and a slow song started playing. I was going to tell him we didn't have to dance to it, but he took me by the hand and we danced. I set my head on his shoulder as we moved to the motion of the song. Even today, I distinctly remember the smell of his cologne.
After the slow song was over, he asked if I wanted to leave prom. I agreed since I didn't really like the song that was on. We got in his car and he drove up the road to where a huge, grassy field was. We then got out and sat on the roof of his car. We started talking about school, our family, friends...the usual things people our age would talk about. What happened next is what surprised me.
As we were in mid-conversation, he leaned over and kissed me. I had never kissed another guy until that moment, but it was like a kaleidoscope of emotions rushing into me. I never felt that way when kissing a girl; it was all so surreal. We then looked into each other's eyes for a few seconds. It was one of the greatest feelings I've ever had, and I couldn't help but smile. He smiled back at me and ran his fingers through my hair.
He took me home later that night, and I couldn't sleep. I couldn't stop thinking about him, and what happened that night.
It's been 5 years since that night, and we are getting married next week. I honestly feel like the luckiest guy in the world. I have a man who would be there for me if it's right or it's wrong, and I would stand by him the same. I believe that everyone has a perfect someone, and this man is mine.

This song is the epitome of sensual, it is dripping in pure love. The lyrics are about a woman almost giving up on love but then finding the one. The vocals and instrumental, it is pure sex and passion.
❥ The Magic Position - Patrick Wolf ► This song is so personal to me, it's one of my all time favourites. Patrick sings about being with his soulmate, it is one of the most romantic songs I've heard, I love the fact that it still manages to be relatively upbeat despite the poetic lyrics. The lyrics are so touching, it makes me want to find a love like that, amazing tbh.
❥ I Wanna Be Loved By You - Marilyn Monroe ► How could I leave this woman off the list? She is THE sex icon, this woman defines love, sex and passion.
