They did a good job with the reboot of Tomb Raider. I don't know what you guys are talking about and it has plenty of replay value.

The multiplayer was so clearly tacked on and was broken five hours in. This is the one area where they tried their hardest to reach Uncharted 2's godlike multiplayer and flopped hard. I pretend like the multiplayer doesn't exist and just do the campaign.

We were discussing how Tomb Raider is basically Uncharted-lite.

The biggest issue I have with Tomb Raider - imho - is the characterization. Lara is fantastically woven and perhaps one of the greatest depictions of the character. The problems lie with the other characters. Her team is built up of stereotypes and cliches. That one man was clearly a villain before he even said one line. Of course the techie had a crush on her. The only real npc of merit was Roth. It was like they tried here and never quite delivered.

That's okay - it is still the third best game of this year. Just food for thought.

I played many. The Last of Us is number one and Bioshock Infinite is probably number two. The amount of hype I had going into Tomb Raider probably has a lot to do with how high it is. Resident Evil 6 PC was number four due to how impressive the multiplayer and Mercenaries mode was. Animal Crossing was the last in my top five. Tried Zelda - couldn't get into it. Bought Pokemon X and turned it back in two days later. Grand Theft Auto V won't be in any kind of running until a PC or PS4 announcement is made.

I would have to disagree with you. The Uncharted trilogy are the games I have replayed probably the the most amount of times last gen. Don't get me wrong I still think Tomb Raider is a great game.

Ooh a Tomb Raider thread! I love this game, and was a fan of the older games too. Probably the only one who liked the series more after Crystal Dynamics took over (Expept TR1). I'm not sure i'f I'll buy this one though, still not sure if the update is worth the money.

One of the few things I don't like about TR is how the player doesn't get to adequately control Lara. I just feel that there's too many cutscenes and moments where the game controls Lara instead of us controlling Lara.

The next game needs to be open world like GTA tbh Individually the areas are too small to enjoy adventuring after you complete the game. And the next game doesn't really need them dumb mini challenges (like light all these torches etc) cuz they're really boring. More action too plz

I thought the game had pretty big areas to explore and go around, though. I don't think an entirely open world a la GTA would work for this saga. I liked the balance for this game.

Kiiiii at the PS4 and ONE buyers that will have to pay an arm and a leg for this remastered version for consoles when us PC users have been able to enjoy the game in all its glory since day 0 and for a extremely cheaper price. Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix better get those coins, though
