I'm guessing you're not too familiar with Soundscan charts but residual sales actually add a lot to an album's sum.

Teenage Dream is set to sell another 150-200k this year alone. The lingering effect of "Firework" + the Grammys + the California Dreams tour + the follow-up singles (there are hit singles left in its arsenal) + award shows for the next year to come and the next holiday season will help this album shift another 500-700k in 2011 very easily.

Honestly, I prefer a mixture...I mean I think it means nothing when a song debuts at #1 (WRWWR for example) unless they are able to prove themselves capable by replacing at #1...meanwhile, with Rude Boy, it wasn't like the song wasn't in the top 3 of itunes while it was up there on the chart; the song I believed was at #2 at one point, and the airplay was undeniable. It is unfair to claim just b/c a song didn't reach #1 on itunes (which I'm not specifying rude boy here) but still was up there in the charts, and had strong airplay, that they still don't deserve that #1 spot

YEAH 3X has a very strong airplay while it's still being slow on digital download & worldwide charts

To be fair, four songs were influenced by Glee (Dog days original and glee version, as well as the original **** you (possible glee related) and soul sister. Another thing is the Christmas song by Coldplay (which will undoubtably only be seasonal) Another thing to refer to is the competitor OG haad...I mean, look at G6, the song that held back OG for so long...it's at #15 (not exactly great either)

Without all the songs mentioned, OG would prob b at #11 or barely outside the top 10
