If she's not going to release the album WW now, why not release a EP with the singles + 3 new tracks? It would serve as something to introduce her to the GP and would make the fans glad too since 2017 is so far away.
This release in Germany will definitely hurt her sales. It would hurt even if she was a main pop girl.
EP release - September 2016
New WW single from the album (with a push in US) - Oct/Nov 2016
Album release - February/March 2017

In all honesty, whatever happens, it all will hurt her in the end. She is in her debut era and every single is a new challenge basically. She already released Be The One and Hotter in most countries that both did/are doing well. Even with an EP release, an album in 2017 would be too far away. She would be basically releasing the 4th single around when the album will be finallly out
and because she is a debuting act, I don't see her label investing in loads of single releases. So the era might be done once she drops it.
There is no guarantee she will get a US hit and no guarantee that her future singles will do as well enough in the countries she has a few hits under her belt.
I mean obviously as a fan I am not that pleased with the fact she (might) have seperate releases that basically already puts the album out, while the rest of the world has to wait MONTHS to hear. But I am as happy with that as with her and Warner putting everything at risk for a 2017 release.
In a perfect world she would have pushed the album to November to get an extra UK hit, and to still be able to ride worldwide on the wave of Hotter and Be The One. They could just release the album in the US aswell, even if that tanks, they could just try to get a few succesful singles and aim for a 2nd album in 2017 where the US gets focus since the beginning of the era.
The whole situation is one lost cause anyways at this point.
