7th longest charting female album ever Just amazing

Someone will hate me for saying this, but Some Hearts has sold 7.4 million copies, and is the third biggest selling CD of the last 10 years. I like Katy Perry, but she's just at 3 million for Teenage Dream; impressive for now, but only a little over 40% of Underwood's total sales for Some Hearts, which produced a double-platinum single "Jesus Take The Wheel," and a quadruple-platininum single, "Before He Cheats," very early in the digital era. There were at least two more Gold songs on the album too.

These comparisons really deserve asterisks, since for about 15 years prior to the start of the 2010 Chart Year, albums that had spent over 104 weeks on the BB200 (later reduced to 78 weeks around 2005) were automatically moved to catalog status if they fell below #100 and had no active singles. Even if they had strong weeks that would've put them back at #1, as we saw when MJ would've had the Top 3 albums for weeks after he died, they could not re-enter the BB200.

Some Hearts has gotten some weeks since the rule change at the end of 2009, but it probably spent six months or so it's not getting credit for because of the Catalog Album policy at the time. Shania Twain's The Woman In Me and Come On Over also had six months to one year or more cut off of their chart lives because of the Catalog Album policy in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Faith Hill's Breathe also had a very lengthy stay on the chart cut short by catalog rules. And the Dixie Chicks, an all girl band instead of solo females, lost tons of time with Wide Open Spaces.

I'm happy these ladies are able to hold on the BB200 for such a long time with their albums, but because of the huge albums released during the time that likely would be on this chart had the current catalog rules been in place at that time, I feel sort of like we're comparing apples to oranges.
