I was immediately mesmerised by this song. The production on this track is otherworldly and Tove sounds dark but seductive. The chorus explodes into simple, yet pulsating electronica and I'm blown away every time I listen to this song. The warbled intro and thumping beat are enrapturing and it is a worthy title track. Congratulations, Tove. You have my #2 album track of 2016
Oh. My. Gosh. I know this is a cover that hasn't had much variation, but Oh. My. Gosh. Every single time I hear this track, I just want to melt. This song truly exemplifies Rihanna as the "Jack of all genres", so to speak. She effortlessly slinks across this groovy beat and she makes her voice perfectly match the mood of the song. Imagining Rihanna dabble in alternative/indie music makes me so excited and if this is the final result, I hope that she gives us more. "Same Ol' Mistakes" is an interesting dichotomy between the old and new self, which is an amazing metaphor for ANTI. I definitely need to thank Tame Impala for creating this track so that Rihanna could bring this into the spotlight for me. Congratulations, Rihanna. You have my #1 album track of 2016
SOM is probably my favorite album track of the year too A true masterpiece and Rihanna did it justice even though it's basically just a karaoke cover here for a collab with Kevin Parker as long as it doesn't serve Perfect Illusion 2.0! Great list
