I'm so confused at the amount of people saying this album will perform poorly. The single is a multi-record breaking 2 million selling hit already and her biggest reaching worldwide, effortlessly. The tour is guaranteed to be a smash as always. Some of the biggest names in music are on the album. She's topping Maxim, dominating the VMAs and TCAs, all after a flop era...?!? It's clear the fans + public are here to support Miley 2.0, why wouldn't they support the album? I mean anything is possible I suppose but all signs are pointing to no, this album will do fine. And I am very sad that so many people on here are so desperate to see Miley flop that they're resorting to That's So Raven sized psychic predictions.

Because having a hit single does not guarantee album sales, we've been over this. There are too many examples on this earth of hit singles (even bigger singles than WCS) that have failed to get people interested in the artists work as a whole. There is no "signs" for how this album will perform and some bought TCA and VMA awards won't change that.

And as for performing a 2nd single at the VMAs, it was wise for her team to choose not to. We Can't Stop currently sits at #3 on Billboard, #8 on iTunes, #1 on Streaming, still has tons of room to gain on radio and is still gaining momentum WW as the VMAs approach this Sunday. To perform a new single while your previous one is showing no signs of dying would be idiotic. If she does perform with Robin Thicke like the leak blogs are saying, it'll only breathe more life into WCS as we approach the fall. She can release the 2nd single 2 weeks before the album to generate buzz, but right now they should just focus on milking WCS for all its worth.

Britney Spears. 3 freaking top 10s from Femme Fatale and only ~800k albums sold. What is little ole Miley going to do with her 1 top 10 hit (yes it's made more of an impact than any single off of FF, but 1 single isn't going to carry an entire era)? There's Nelly, who you claim to be such a big star, who only sold 314k copies of his last album despite a top 3 hit. And just for kiis, there's Carly Rae Jepsen, Demi and will.i.am. Not to mention the amount of negative press Miley has gotten from WCS. For as much love she's getting this era, she's just getting just as much hate. It's gonna be hard to convince people there's more to her than WCS since it's such a polarizing hit. Like I said before, there's no accurate indication of how this album will do, but I've already said things aren't looking too good. W/e tho, I'm the negative one so.

Idg what WCS being a polarizing hit has to do with album sales. The people who liked it will buy and and the people that don't, won't. Being polarizing obviously didn't harm WCS so why would it harm the alberm?

And I'm TIRED of you bringing up Nelly as if I said he's the king of rap or something.

All I meant was that he got pop radio interested in Cruise so maybe pop radio would check for something of a follow-up to it.
