S&M needs to be the hit that sells Loud.
Its the 3rd single and its already doing amazing. and most important of all.... Loud is climbing those spots. And in the end the album is the one that needs to keep on selling as best as possible.
Singles do not sell Tours. Singles build albums and the albums sales consolidate careers.
Rih needs to focus on bringing epic videos and building an image and a loyal fanbase.
And she is already at that point.
She is going to be SO HUGE in the UK this era... I can even see Loud going 6xPlatinum without a re-release there.... (it is already at 1.050.000 copies sold and this week it all points to a sales and position increase (lets say 35K...) That means we will be around 100K away from 4xPlatinum ALREADY....) And Brit awards are coming this tuesday (which will skyrocket S&M and Loud....)
I even think that S&M can go #1 next week... even with all this gaga..... (remember the effect of the grammys are mostly for the US and Canada) SO I expect S&M to be able to fight that #1 next week in the UK.
And her album is going platinum in a matter of 2 more weeks (895K as of last week. And this week she is predicted 35K = 930K.... the 70K left to the 1M mark will be a matter of 2 weeks....)
And with 1.200.000 copies sold in the UK and 1.000.000 sold in the US in just 4 months... I think we can all agree that Rihanna is now an ESTABLISHED HUGE WORLDWIDE POPSTAR. (I expect loud to be at 3.5M worldwide in around a month time too...)

Exactly! I mean I'm sorta happy with how S&M is performing. It's doing something totally different from her other singles, its like waiting for the explosion, but while its waiting, its just getting those sales, and its just taking its time. There's no need for it to pull a Pink, F**ckin' Perfect has low airplay, hence why it dropped so fast! S&M is doing amazing.
I do think S&M will go #1 in the UK after the Britts. I mean come on, they go hard for her, and I think LOUD can even go 8x plat with a re-release, I see LOUD being the best selling album in the UK. Her tour is going to be OUT OF THIS WORLD!
I'm also happy for LOUD in the US, It will go plat, in a few weeks, her fastest ever, and I think Rihanna is gaining more and more status as a superstar.
Her next album needs to be even better than LOUD or if its a re-release, she needs to continue growing, she needs to continue making amazing videos, more eye popping performances, and just keep being Rihanna. I like the fact that she quit the bizarre, style, its not her, thats gaga. Gaga does that to make up for her not so attractive features.
Rihanna is a beauty, she doesnt need to dress all crazy, just stay simple and classic!
