I dislike him too. FS / LS was a great album, so I did have to humble myself and buy it but other than that his entire early career was modeled after Usher's and his entire recent career has relied solely on radio oversaturating his mediocre singles.

I didn't even know Usher was "impactful"/big until I joined ATRL. He's such a non-factor here.

Same mess.

He only became big recently when he abandoned R&B for that dance-pop stuff. After that he literally blew up and became the #1 popstar for a while

Not really a fan of his either but I do like Climax. Its sad that all the male popstars are watered down versions of the 'greats'. I want a new male pop act who isn't afraid to be a little different and break that mould.

It's so weird. He wasn't big here either until Yeah! and that was his only hit until OMG... It's strange how some artists are so huge in the US, yet, even though they sell a biT ww, they're not really relevant.

I've honestly heard most of the Usher songs that American SYGers claim are classics. My Boo was one I'd never heard before this year, and my friend put Confessions (Part II) (Is that even the title?) when I was with her once and she was surprised I had never heard it.

People know Yeah! and OMG here, but...

I live in Canada, literally bordering the U.S. and I know that Usher wasn't that big. He had a few hits but it wasn't like he was a classic or anything. All I remember was Yeah! (which I despise)

To be honest, I got to know Usher in 2007 - 08 cause he was my body inspiration!

I remember I was kind of a fan when he was releasing a different buzz single every month for the R vs R album

But what's happening with his shelved album is so puzzling. Good Kisser was cute, the track with Nicki was bad, but it had way too much promo to flop like it did and then I Don't Mind was a big hit without a video. Then, they shelved the album and gave away an album track in Cheetos boxes at Walmart (no kidding). Like, what?

Top Member is fun. Definitely give it a go. I placed fifth a couple of seasons ago when I was 100% irrelevant, so it's not just about that.

Also Matty's and Fefe's reviews give me a little more hope. I was fefe's tied favourite blueprint with lovesong I think, wow. And Matty liked it better than Past Lives? I guess my single underperformed but I'm not even surprised, this always happens when I try to write radio friendly.
