MC is actually one of her best albums, can't believe I neglected it for this long.
It's actually the first Mariah album I bought, I got it a couple months before MIAMTEC because i'd gotten into a few of her albums and this was the only one they had at my local HMV.
I'm late but I wanted to join. My top 4 from Emotions are:
Can't Let Go
If Its Over
Till the End of Time
And You Don't Remember
All of those are some of the best recordings she has vocally. They all show off so many assets of her voice. I never realized how many top tier Mariah songs are on Emotions. lol
I think MC was her vocal peak tbh, anyone else agree?
If by MC, you mean Merry Christmas, then yes. The technique of the Daydream era, beautiful airy whistles from the Music Box era, and soul from the Mariah Carey and Emotions eras.

I love the edgier sound of her debut, but I think her vocal peak is a battle between Music Box/Merry Christmas vs Daydream era. From Debut to Music Box she really improved in her mixed voice, where you can see here.
The difference in the f5 on "SO" is Way more open, resonant, and effortless.
You can't go wrong with either, but I have a slight preference to Daydream Tour's vocals because they really do sound out of this universe to me. No one has come close imo.To me, I feel like the general public probably thinks of Mariah's Music Box voice as the quintessential classic Mariah voice. Perhaps its different WW vs US, where Daydream was a more prominent and successful era.
Why can't you see
I would give the world away
to have you by my side
Each time she sings that line she sounds more and more pleading like she's begging him to just see how she feels. Yet she still sounds so powerful and confident. Just incredible.
