You know, as much as I mourn the fact that Y&I will not lend itself to an epic VMA performance in way that, say, Scheisse does, I think she should do a fairly straightforward piano performance of it (accentuated by whatever degree of theatricality she can cram in, of course).
If you're going to go the "see, I am talented and do have variety in my music" route with your single choice, you may as well highlight that as much as possible, otherwise there may not be much point. As weary as some are of her insistence on incorporating the piano, it still does leave an impression on casual observers (see the YouTube comments on her Stern performances).
I guess I'm just hoping she doesn't rehash that Sydney Monster Hall performance where she's just going around the stage singing Y&I. That's kinda boring, honestly, and if you're not going to play up the "talented acoustic performer" image with it then what's the point?
There's a reason her acoustic performances of TEOG seemed to have more of an effect than the full-blown productions. She does shine behind the piano, there's no denying it.
WTF...I thought she was filming the video in NYC, she should have gone with MTN and the great city of NY as her background...but oh well, I guess there is no denying now that it will be Y & I in Nebraska ....I do like Y & I, but it just wasn't the right time for this single yet.

I'm waiting for the Brit 2010 moment to be remade.

Hmm, that outfit was one of her best ever, but I didn't like the Telephone arrangement. There's a song that just doesn't lend itself to an acoustic rendition at all.
