I've heard rumours of people doing a similar thing for Sm4sh in about 5 years but unlike Brawl it works fine already so I pray they don't waste their time on that.

I use it to make my 3DS region-free, play SNES games, unlimited play coins, and custom 3DS themes.

As much as I'd love to play Earthbound on my 3DS and as safe as it may be, I wouldn't want to mess with my 3DS.

Also, would it be entirely insane to sell my 8GB Wii U and get a Gamecube with F-Zero GX and Melee? I'm kind of fed up with my Wii U (Played Bayonetta 2,Smash,Hyrule warrior,wonderful 101 etc ad nauseum) and I'll I have left is Splatoon, which I'm kind of bored with, and Wind Waker HD. It wouldn't be 1 for 1 either, I'd still get 30 Euro back and could trade in the games. Any opinion would be really helpful

How similar are the gaming mechanics of Splatoon to an FPS? Like I know there's no actual shooting and getting kills isn't the objective, but would someone who's long detested shooting games of all types enjoy it?

Splatoon isn't first person so there's that first of all.

And yeah, even if you don't enjoy shooters you will definitely find Splatoon fun and engaging. The motion gyroscope controls are actually kinda cute for once

I don't like shooters at all and detest how popular and prevalent they have become in gaming but enjoy Splatoon.

It's a nice mix between an accessible and casual game for anyone and something that requires a little strategy.
