CBS launches a new comedy with Robin Williams Thursday night (Sept. 26), and in the debut episode of The Crazy Ones, Kelly Clarkson will play herself.
And she credits Blake Shelton with landing that gig because Blake included her in a comedy skit on his Not-So-Family Christmas special back in December.
“They saw me on Blake’s Christmas special. So people will be like, ‘Oh my God, she was hilarious,’” Kelly told reporters recently. “And I think that’s one of the reasons why The Crazy Ones called is ’cause they saw our little skit.”
So Kelly agreed to do the role because she plays herself, but Kelly says she ended up playing a much more sexed-up version of herself on the CBS show.
“I get there and they show me the freaking script. It is not me. I do not say anything remotely near what my character on that show [says], like, ever,” she said. “Like, ‘I want to talk about sex in my songs,’ and ‘I want to just sell sex.’ Like, I was like, ‘What?’”
But that’s not all.
“I mean, I’ve had to grind someone in a scene. Like, ‘Oh,’ like, just going down singing this song acting like a total stripper. Like, I don’t do that at my shows, and so, it was not normal.”
Yikes.
“They totally just, yeah, maneuvered that little situation.”
Still, Kelly says she’s glad she did it.
“It was so much fun. Everybody on the cast was really nice.”

Kelly made a New Year’s resolution to say yes to things she would normally say no to, so she finally agreed to do it, but she says, “I get there and they show me the fricking script. It is not me! I do not say anything remotely near what my character on that show [says, like], ‘I wanna talk about sex in my songs and I wanna just sell sex in my songs,’ and I was just like, ‘What??!’”
By then it was too late to back out, but Kelly says she’s ultimately glad she did it. “Just the pure fact that I can say I shared a scene with Robin Williams, like come on. He’s one of my favorites since I was a kid. And he’s the nicest human being. You can tell why he’s had such an amazing career, because people want to work with people like that.”
The Crazy Ones premieres tonight at 9pm ET/8pm CT on CBS.

Sony Music Germany has just confirmed the deluxe version of Wrapped in Red. It'll be available for pre order on Amazon Germany today.  I'll Be Home for Christmas and O Come O Come Emmanuel are in the tracklisting.
IMO,. it's such as shame that Ave Maria isn't included.

Speaking of Christmas....
Looks like she won't be performing at CMA Country Christmas. I was hoping she could tape another day, since the day this is filmed she's doing a Microsoft opening. Oh well. She's doing her own Christmas special so I'm not too bummed.

So, an official info. OK, let me believe it.  Flop them that Ave Maria isn't included.  I still hope that AM will be there as a iTunes bonus track (I guess that it won't be a Japanese bonus track, I don't think that they celebrate Xmas in Japan, do they?)

Kelly did a few satellite interviews today with some news stations for the Celebrate My Drive thing she's doing with State Farm.

Yeah? Honestly I have no idea. Xmas is a "global" festival (or how to call it) , on the other hand Japan isn't a "Christian" country, I think buddhism is the main religion there. I think they might have a festival similar to Xmas but I don't know if they listen to Xmas music.
