C'mon. It's holiday season already. Katy couldn't reach 300k. Gagz, of all people, is projected to do slightly over 350k. How is Britney supposed to do 300-350k. I don't see it.
The public interest has gone downhill for her. Ever since her breakdown, she was that untouchable pop star who barely ever graced anything with her presence, she was a mystery, any of her appearances translated into ratings boost. But ever since X-Factor she's become very available, the mystery aura is gone, the dull medicated personality is known. She lost her star power big time in between these two records.
Yeah, but Katy's album selling power is different than Britney's. PRISM's first day pre-order position was #21 and it peaked at #7 the day after, they are hardly comparable in that area. As for Gaga, I personally think she'll do upwards of 400K. I mean, she'll have DWUW add date tomorrow, so the song will be getting more exposure, she'll have the iTunes stream [which Britney will also have], and a good promotional campaign [which hopefully Britney might get as well].
I just don't think it's out of reach if things are handled properly and the second single sees success.
