The only Madonna song I knew up until a few years ago was Holiday, it was my mums favourite song
I agree she is a legend with many classics but is only really lived/appreciated by middle aged people who grew up listening to her. She's alienated the younger generation to the point where people only think of her as an out of touch grandma who refuses to put her **** away.
But I feel it's inevitable for any artist's discog to be relatively forgotten 20/30 years after their debut, only a few make music timeless enough to still be listened to decades later.
I just find it odd, I was born in 97 and I grew up hearing Papa Don't Preach, Like A Prayer, LAV etc and I remember Music, Hung Up and Sorry being huge - the music videos were on TV all the time. I even remember hearing Love Profusion and not knowing what that song was until last year I HATED Madonna from 2011 - 2012 because I stanned Gaga during the whole BTW fiasco but her songs were still prominent throughout my childhood, probably third after Britney's and Beyoncé's.
Bad Romance has (or more like had since we have to talk in the past tense when referencing Gaga) global appeal. Ofcourse a Taylor stan ain't gonna like it.
I treat Kelly the same way I treat Pink. Both are good for their singles cuz they are radio friendly and follow the same formula they've been using for years.
I never feel offended or annoyed listening to their songs and the lyrics are easy to pick up. yay formulas
Katy has destroyed Gags but Taylor rendered Katy useless so everyone go buy another copy of 1989 next week to block Meghan needs a Trainor and call it a day

Taylor only has 2-3 real global hits, she's not on Katy's level yet
Bad Longevity isn't even Gaga's song or video. It's all Francis Lawrence, RedOne and whoever wrote the song and video treatment. She was just a prop in it.
This is also true. Regardless, Katy > Francis Lawrence/Red One's song.
