Really? See personally I felt that with What Kind of Man, it was more about driving home her desperation and lack of comprehension as to what kind of "man" would actually do such a thing. It's more a power/repetition-to-drive-home-a-point thing than the result of basic writing imo.

Pop music has really dumbed down over the past decade or so. I'm as much a fan of a catchy pop song as anyone, but it worries me when lots of people now mistake subtle, slow-burning, sophisticated melodies for "no chorus etc etc". Florence's music isn't aimed at kids.

Omg, I'm relistening to Ceremonials as a whole in its tracklist order and idk if HBHBHB has topped this album for me yet. I was in such a bad place when I first heard Ceremonials, so it'll stick with me forever. But certain songs on HBHBHB make me reflect on those moments and find the good in them.
Florence, what kind of introspective, therapeutic queen.
Like Never Let Me Go is the song I listened to when I just wanted to give up on everything, but the title track of HBHBHB tells me to forget about everything and appreciate the life around me.
