XO was a song from a mostly Urban album and Beyonce hardly ever makes songs like that so it's not surprise that it wasn't well recieved.
Yeah they did, after months and months. And a very larger majority of Urban songs didn't. There have been a very select hand few of Urban songs that have crossed over in comparison and those took awhile to catch on outside of Urban radio and the Urban audience themselves.
And even still those Urban songs that did crossover are still nowhere as big or successful as the non-Urban smashes. The ONLY songs that have had comparable success are probably Happy and All Of Me and those are both arguable in terms of who they were meant to cater to.
